This place is fantastic for children. We got to bottle feed the goats, stroll through the butterfly garden, and ride the horse-drawn carriage. There are so many animal exhibits and playgrounds that the kids will have fun for hours. We didn’t get a chance to check out the shopping area but it looked so quaint. It was a very affordable day trip.

This museum tells the history of Johnson County through the years. The highlight is an actual all-electric 1950s house. They had a few interactive things for kids, but they might get board. If you are in the Overland Park area, this is worth a stop. It also has a very affordable entry price as well ($6/adult).

From the awesome outside to the all the neat things to see inside, this is really a must see/do at least once when you are in the area!! There is a small charge to see the exhibits inside, but, not much and worth it... they do change up from time to time, so if it's been a few years, go back and check it out.

Visited from out of state with family that lives there. It was everyone’s first time. We loved it. Everyone is so kind and it is spaced out for social distancing. Wonderful donuts and coffee for walking around. We brought back lots of goodies.

The convention center is great. We go there for the craft shows and holiday show every year. The inside is well maintained and parking has never been an issue for us.

Indian Creek Greenway Trail is an awesome trail for biking. The approximately 17-mile long trail is asphalt-paved and runs on the banks of Indian Creek most of the time. Several community parks go by along the trail. A few spots have some steep hills, and some low spots may be flooded or muddy in wet conditions. It runs most of the time trough woods, but being in urban area, highway noise is not too far off. Pretty elaborate Historical Waymarkers are installed every few miles along the trail.

Indian Creek Greenway is highly popular and used by walkers, runners, and cyclists. It connects up with two other beautiful trails - Blue River Greenway and Tomahawk Creek Greenway.

Lots of kid friendly things to see and do here. Adults, there are things to see and do for you as well! We loved the 1950's house! Just a family friendly place.

This memorial is in front of the Overland Park, Kansas Fire Training Center. There is a steel girder from the World Trade Center, a "Weeping Wall" with water flowing, floor tiles from the World Trade Center. A panel lists the names of the people killed in the terrorist attacks on 9/11/

This isn't big but it is powerful. It is on the corner of a relatively busy intersection, but parking is free and it is easy to find. Since it is very close to my house, I drive by often and I am amazed that almost every time I go by there are people visiting.

This group was wonderful!!! It’s nine blokes in an Ireland pub singing a variety of pop, rock and jazz with a few basic instruments. Their voices are the main wonderful event.

Carlsen Center has events most weekends. They have a variety of styles, and tastes in their presentations and at decent prices, so look at them on the weekend here in the southwest KC suburbs and see what they have.

People seem to genuinely like working here. Go to a Dillard's or Macy's and you'll need to be medicated for the intense feeling of clinical depression. Von Maur is always well organized, and the staff is very engaging. It is my go to spot for baby gifts (2nd floor). Most are reasonably priced plus they will gift wrap and ship it for free. They also have good house warming gifts. Every year I can always find a few things in the Men's section that become staples - both for work and fun.

We did not expect to find an art gallery of astonishing quality at a community college, and were a bit skeptical when a friend recommended we stop here, but we're so glad we did! As I told the docents, you know that a collection is well curated when the building seems to have been built especially for the pieces on display. Our party of Mexicans and Americans enjoyed our time so much that we would have stayed another hour if we hadn't been on a schedule. We all left with a gorgeous coffee table book featuring the Oppenheimer Collection, and we enjoyed the first-floor gallery with a rotating exhibition of artists from the state of Kansas. Highly recommended for contemporary art lovers!

I've been coming here with my kids for over ten years. The plays are top-notch. Bring a couple of dollars for some home made desserts before the show.
People who work here are always so friendly.
