What travelers are saying
- Jamie L7 contributionsNice small venue in a nice neighborhood. Very convenient street parking short walk to the venue. I had standing room at the back, but I was able to see everything well. It's a little too warm in there, but not bad. Reasonably priced drinks.Written October 28, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - joaniemariaEldridge, IA5,420 contributionsA beautiful campus next to Lake Michigan. The buildings are beautiful and the shoreline is lovely. I recommend a visit if you have never been there.Written September 16, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - muzique1960Woodridge, IL1,103 contributionsAn amazingly complete and beautiful museum! You have to see it to believe it - the collection of Tiffany (much more than stained glass!), clocks of every shape and size. The text by each item is detailed and very interesting.Written July 30, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Anita 414Milwaukee, WI6 contributionsWhat a great little museum! Super interesting, well-curated collection where you can learn all the history they left out in school. Plus they let you touch some of it - you can feel the inside of a moccasin and marvel at the skilled stitching of the beads on the outside.
The temporary exhibit about the Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women is heartbreaking. During a week in which we see the FBI and NYC law enforcement trying to find the killer of one middle-aged white man, my friend and I learned that there are thousands - yes thousands - of missing Indigenous women - yet they are not a priority for law enforcement and the media rarely reports their stories.
This museum is definitely worth a couple hours of your time (and there is free parking, which is a big deal in the Chicago area).Written December 8, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Moving.Written February 16, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- jgbtravelsLouisville, KY4,852 contributionsSince we were working our way down from the Chicago Botanic Garden and down to the Baha’i House of Worship it made sense to stop here. Only a 4 minute drive from the Baha’i House of Worship it would be a shame not to take a peek. It’s a stunningly beautiful lighthouse next to a park with a parking lot. We were able to take a few pix and enjoy the peace and serenity of the area near Lake Michigan. We followed the route along the lake from the Chicago Botanic Garden to finally the Grosse Pointe Lighthouse which was much more scenic.Written August 6, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - AndiMScottsdale, AZ498 contributionsGreat little distillery. Since the website says "generous tasting" we opted to take the el. It was a very short walk to the distillery but pay attention or you will miss it as it is tucked back from the main road. Look at some pictures before you go so you know what you are looking for.
We bought our tickets online day of and had a a group of 6. This is about the perfect size since the distillery is so small. They will walk you through and explain their whiskey still and their gin still as well as walk you through some history of FEW.
We tasted 3 different gins and 3 different whiskeys. Some I like more than others but everyone on the tour seemed to have a different favorite. I bought a bottle on the way out.
Overall the tour takes about an hour. I'm glad a learned a little more about this quaint little distillery.Written October 30, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
