- Francis MartinoHirtshals, Denmark1,710 contributionsSt.John The Baptist Catholic Church is located at the downtown of Yangon very accessible for visitors and it is the old building church in Yangon .The lane next to Bogyoke Aung San Market had souvenir shops with interesting local products. Also watch out for the art galleries nearby of it showcasing some work from the local. A place you can take a stroll in the evening.
It is a beautiful church at the end of a very steep touristic street. Great view. Possibly the coolest building I've ever seen. Place always worth to be visited.
All the people are very kindly and welcome to everyone. The Church compound is very attractive and peaceful. It's a modest, sparsely decorated yet green building. The Mass time are very convenient for the people.Written March 6, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - davidchakSofia, Bulgaria54 contributionsThis is an old Chinese temple tucked away in the busy street. Wouldn't recommend going out of the way to come here, but it gives a good rest/shelter during the monsoon seasonWritten July 1, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. One of advantages of this market place is open till 11pm. Another nice thing is signboard showing availability of car parking. Best to escape from traffics and dine out after 8pm in the evening. Last order for meals is 9pm at some restaurants.Written August 3, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

It’s about half way around the circular train from Yangon, so you can hope off to take a look around and maybe buy some cheap local fruit then get a grab or taxi back if you don’t want to wait for the train. Wear shoes you don’t mind getting muddy, so best no sandals.Written August 25, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Keith DGreater London, UK253 contributionsSince I was a child , this place has changed immensely over the decades , for the better. Inside the Cathedral all the stain glass windows have been changed and it looks great, with an abundance of colours. Certain statues have remained in place ,and none has grown old as we human beings have. Worth a visit, but do not wear shorts, just like the Pagodas where respect must be shown.Written February 27, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Most of our times filled with shopping, relaxing at beaches, eating at many restaurants, visiting places like ancient Palace (Mandalay Kyune), etc.
We also had excellent Karaoke times with our family, friends and acquaintances. It was amazing how such small portable device engineered by Frontiir Team in Myanmar and at the same time, we enjoyed streaming many excellent Myanmar movies, music videos, fun shows, Myanmar series, Myanmar Live Channels and many other interesting entertainment programs from it.
Overall, Yangon in Myanmar was a wonderful place to visit where lots of excellent restaurants, beaches and shopping. Also the Frontiir TVie Karaoke streaming device gave us great experiences into the next level.

To enter the territory, you must obtain the permission of the principal. In addition to visiting the shrine itself, you can visit classes and places of relaxation, talk with students and teachers. The atmosphere is very unforced and friendly. You will be told the history of the shrine and monastery in this place, they will be told about Buddhist education.Written January 12, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Andy FDevizes, UK1,240 contributionsWorth popping your head inside, to see what's left of a fine colonial building - the windows, roof, counters etc. There's also a collection of old equipment - telegraph, telex, etc and an old postbox.Written November 28, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
