- GregAussie1Melbourne, Australia651 contributionsInya lake is in the heart of Yangon and can be a great place to relax or get some exercise. There is a great part where you can enjoy lunch and a drink beside the water and surrounded by lovely gardens.
Mix with the friendly locals as you take a walk around the lake or take a picnic and lay back on the lawns. If you have kids it’s safe for them to run around and play there are playgrounds. It’s a great place to visit if you are nearing the end of hectic travels.Written March 23, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Also, the Independence Monument is located in the middle of this Park.
As such, it is common for most tourists to visit.Written April 24, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - MoeLwinYangon (Rangoon), Myanmar141 contributionsI am a believer.
I have been going regularly, every Friday, after lunch - they provide free lunch if you are hungry, and its been a good experience. This does not means not to work hard, but with the spiritual side taken care of, you surge forward with greater confidence. I do recommend the trip. Don't wish for just anything, you might regret if the wish comes true and in full blast.Written September 18, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. I walked over to Peoples Park after visiting the Shwedagon pagoda, and was surprised how big the park is. Seemed to be mainly locals relaxing and enjoying the pleasant weather in December.
To be fair, the park is not on a scale of Hyde Park, Central Park or parks in some European cities, but for SEAsian city it was very nice.
If you are in this area definitely worth a visit.Written January 4, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. You can go through the South entrance on your way to either the Shwedagon Pagoda or Kandawgyi Lake and come out the North end. You don't have to backtrack. For me, it was worth it just to see the red panda and the big cats.
That said, some of the big cats, and other animals, don't look too happy. Tigers were pacing in their cages. Elephants in particular look like they need more room. And the gibbon had such a sad and depressed look on his face.
On the other hand, the elephants seemed happy to be hand fed snacks which you can buy, and overcrowding in general isn't much of a problem now that many animals have been transferred to the zoo in the new capital in Nyapitaw.Written December 25, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - John12312Singapore, Singapore431 contributionsMount Victoria represents the Apex of Chin State. Getting there is not easy. You need take a flight to Bagan from Yangon. Drive through Chauk and Saw before reaching Kanpetlet, a small town at about 5000 ft above sea level. You probably need to stay a night at one of the mountain resort. We stayed at Sky Palace which offers amazing mountain view. Early in the morning, drive about 1 hour through a stretch of rocky dusty winding road which is currently under repaving. You arrived at the base station of the mountain. Vehicles are prohibited to drive up so either you pay 20,000 Kyat to a motorcyclist to pillion you up or you can trek up. We took the latter. It is most strenuous 3 hour journey. The trek up is steep, dusty and rocky. Our trekking is also disturbed by those motorcycles riding up and down accumulating more dust along the track. In between we took to the spectacular view of the surrounding mountains full of rhododendron trees. Reaching the top of Mount Victoria offers a great achievement for us. At 10,200 ft the view is so breathtaking. Although we do not see any cloud, we can see the expanse of mountains as far as we can see. Atop the mountain seated a well-craft Buddha status overlooking a plateau where a big Cross and a small pagoda are located. Great place to reach for some soul searching.Written March 28, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- andrej1606St. Petersburg, Russia122 contributionsIt's more like picnic place. Bus brings you to the biggest lake in park with facilities around - picnic places, bungalows, bar and restaurant and water activities like kayak, boot, SUP. It is impossible to stay there for night.
If I am right there is the possibility to order trek with guide throug jungle.

- Al N14 contributionsPleasant park on the Northern shore of Kandawgyi lake: Late afternoon/early evening is the best time to see many local families with their children enjoying the cool breeze, the space, food, balloons, toys offered by street vendors, playing Badminton and other games and picknicking.

There are multiple ponds with a lot of crocodiles in them. You can also purchase food to feed the crocs. Each pond has a lot of crocodiles and it is fun to watch them pouce on the food dropped into the pond. There is a seperate section where baby crocodiles are kept, you can pay them additional to take the baby croc in your hands and click photographers with them. Enjoy coconut water inside the campus. Overall good place to visit and worth the money.Written April 19, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
