Christmas decorations were just coming down when we visited in early January. A life size Santa playing a saxophone greater us in the entry. The original paintings of the life of Christ were beautiful. Birds flew in and out of the church. Not your typical "European Cathedral" and definitely worth a visit. K 2000 entry fee.

A fascinating place where the various ethnic minority races of Myanmar are show cased. Each race has a traditional village ethnic timber house complete with utensils and furniture and photos together with different costumes and informative write ups. Good idea to rent bicycles to tour the places and the park has sprawling grounds. Many local small vendors sell local fruits and drinks. The best and most simple way to experience the various ethnic cultures. Definitely worth visiting. Highly recommended

When you see barbed wired gates, red and grey coloured stones, you're in the right place. Go to that huge entrance and see a small ticketing booth. It's 3,000 Myanmar Kyats for foreigners. No brochure given so you really have to read on the History before you visit or simply bring a local friend.

As you enter after buying your ticket, sign in at security booth. Then, off you go. Unfortunately, not all the stone slabs are written in English and not all of us can read Burmese either. Hence why I personally thought, it'll be nice to have a brochure for record and summarised reading purposes.

You can take videos and photos in this mausoleum. So you should take a photo at the fallen star by the ground.

Well. It is well known. You can have some felling about peace. But you will get well better if you know about it's history. Kyaikasan Pagoda of Myanmar, is very beautiful and historic one. Many people come here for praying and meditation. You can see how big and beautiful of pagoda with decoration of Buddhism and Burmese art and tradition.

This is an old Chinese temple tucked away in the busy street. Wouldn't recommend going out of the way to come here, but it gives a good rest/shelter during the monsoon season

It was once the Office of Rangoon Times (a pioneer in Myanmar Journalism). Both India and Myanmar were British colonies in the past. So Mahatma Gandhi, Indian freedom movement leader, addressed Myanmar's freedom activists in this very Hall. Decades later it was a place where the activists of people's liberty movement gathered. It is now managed by the Gandhi Memorial Trust, which tried to demolish the place for commercial gains -- despite such a historic past; fortunately, the proposal was stalled because heritage activists raised a hue & cry. It is badly maintained and may be lost f if the Trust sells it or fails to repair it. Please see it before it is too late!
