What travelers are saying
- terrsallWaterloo, IN617 contributionsPart of the country's first gold rush in 1828 this tour is very educational. Unbelievable what the miners went through in a days work. Our guide was very knowledgeable and funny. Before you go on your tour you get to pan for gold but don't expect to find much, a lot of fun though!Written 23 February 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- YYZ2HHHHilton Head, SC97 contributionsThere is more than gold in the hills of Dahlonega,
GA. Wolf Mountain Vinyards is a must stop, must see destination. If you think this is going to be just another winery, then you probably think Bentley is just another automobile!
If I had only one word to use, it would be perfection.
Owned, managed, and lovingly operated by multiple generations of the Boegner family, Wolf Mountain Vinyards is a splendid combination of 5 star cuisine and 5 star hospitality service all wrapped in a unique feeling that one is not simply a guest but rather a part of the family.
Whether you choose to stop for the scenery, the beautiful buildings, the award winning wine, the exquisite cuisine, an overnight stay or hosting a wedding, you will congratulate yourself for landing at Wolf Mountain Vinyards.
It is indeed a delicate balance to provide such a high level experience while maintaining the friendly family atmosphere. The Boegner’s have found the recipe!
Put this on your list. You’ll be very glad you did.Written 16 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Margot S1 contributionCrisson Gold Mine is a must see! For less than $20 a person, you get to pan for real gold (that you keep!!) and you get to search for gemstones (that you also keep!!). It's so fun, and you go at your own pace so it's also great for kids! The staff there are all helpful, knowledgeable, and kind. We loved working with Raven when my boyfriend and I decided to get some of the gems we found cut for jewelry. She was so patient with answering our questions about cuts and prices and the different gems that we could get cut. She helped us decide on a couple of options, one of which hopefully turns into an engagement ring 🤞 I can't recommend this place enough! So much fun, you get to learn about the Dahlonega gold rush, and take home some gemstones and gold all for an amazing price!!Written 22 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- brian fGreensboro, NC331 contributionsThe Gold Museum was a must see as it explained the history of the area and provided a lot of cool exhibits.Written 13 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Ken SKnoxville, TN15 contributionsBest winery for fun, atmosphere, music and wine. This number 1 in my book. Visited 6 wineries. Staff was friendly.Written 22 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- ljrapp16Roswell, GA223 contributionsWhat a nice place to spend some time and enjoy some wine. Great views, nice wine, good service. I would put this one on the list.Written 22 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- LanetraCharlotte, NC9 contributionsWe visited Frogtown as part of our Women’s Wine Weekend. After reading reviews here and on Yelp, I added them to our itinerary about three weeks prior to our trip. The night before going on a trip, I always check reviews to make sure nothing has changed. I was shocked by some of the things being said in some of the latest reviews. So much so, I actually thought about removing them from our itinerary!
However, I decided we would go as
planned. I am so glad we did! We had a great time from the moment we arrived! After parking, we caught a ride on tractor pulling a trailer with chairs. We were promptly and pleasantly greeted before being taken to our table with a great view where enjoyed amazing pizza & salad. While the wine was not to our liking (we prefer sweeter wines), the courteous and attentive staff made this a nice visit even with the table behind us who were loud and obviously enjoyed the wine more than us!
I would recommend visiting Frogtown and would definitely return just for the pizza & salad!Written 9 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC. - Joey R4 contributionsThe Winery is great for scenic photographs. We ate there and things were a bit on the expensive side but overall, very good. The samplers of wine were about $26 each but it was only 3 glasses. The staff was wonderful and frequented our table very regularly to make sure any of our needs were addressed. Staff and quality were great, but overall a bit pricey.Written 19 May 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- 63KathydWinter Haven, FL809 contributionsThis is more of a walk than a hike but it’s a beautiful walk. You follow the edge of the lake. Cross over a few streams. Great way to spend a few hours in nature.Written 31 December 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Chad HDuQuoin, IL289 contributionsIt is a quant little place to visit. If you are looking for a sophisticated place, you'll be disappointed. However, the folks there are friendly. It is a very enjoyable place to walk around and visit with a variety of animals. They are a joy to feed too, especially the bison who will stick its tongue out for you to put food on it. It's not a fancy place, but that is not what we were looking for. It makes for a nice time.Written 6 November 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- L CHuntsville, AL14 contributionsMy husband and I planned a morning basic falconry experience with Georgia Mountain Falconry for our first anniversary and it was wonderful! Buster, Jill, and Damon adapted their talk to our individual knowledge levels (I'm more of a bird nerd than my husband is) and we thoroughly enjoyed seeing the different birds. But the experience of receiving a bird from flight and then sending it back to the other handler was simply incredible. We are checking the calendar to see when we can go again and join them on a hunt next time. Definitely worth the time and the money!Written 19 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- ljrapp16Roswell, GA223 contributionsThis is the best winery in Dahlonega by far. This was a mother/ daughter trip and we picked this place as our first stop because it was small and we had heard good things and we wanted to be able to get a seat. I am glad we did. The wine is the best in Dahlonega! Even though it was our first place and I said we must buy a bottle each here because if we don't we will be upset because the rest of the day will not be able to top our glasses. It did not. We enjoyed our day but Accent was the best wine all day and we are so glad we have a bottle to have at home.Written 22 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- NikJAscot, UK758 contributionsThough I did not go in, there was an event on and I was people watching outside our staff dealt with people and also the quaintness of the theatre. Staff really cared for their customers and as a non-US person reminded me of days gone by that I seen the films...Written 30 October 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- C R1 contributionThis is a great waterfall for people who aren't able to hike very far. Good swimming in the summer time.Written 4 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
- Julia K10 contributionsWonderful service, wine and food. Please reconsider your choice of music! Scenery and atmosphere reminded me of Tuscany.Written 8 May 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of TripAdvisor LLC.
