What a wonderful experience. The docent was fabulous and was able to engage us from a 4 year old to a 66 year old. The hospital is pristine and well kept and worth the admission fee. Cannot miss this attraction.

To get to Pigeon Key, you pay and sign two waivers.

It is recommended that you arrive ten minutes before your designated time.

At the designated time, you board a small train, which takes you across the seven mile bridge to get to the island. Once we arrived, everyone on the train moved as a group. We were greeted by CT. She was a hoot. Not only was she knowledgeable about the island, but she knew a lot about Henry Flagler. It was an educational tour and you learn a lot without even realizing that you were learning.

Even though everyone on my train moved as a group and enjoyed the tour, you are not obligated to join the tour. You can snorkel and fish, have a picnic and bird watch. Some were just taking a nap underneath the big tree. There are also clean restrooms and a gift shop.

We drove the Keys on a Friday in March 2024. Traffic wasn't too bad as we were driving Seven Mile Bridge around 2pm and 5pm. If you're looking for a great photo of Seven Mile Bridge, you'll want to stop either before or after and get a photo from the side. While you are actually on the bridge it is difficult to show the expansiveness of the bridge. You'll get the best colors of the water from about 11am to 3pm while there is full sun.

Sombrero Beach itself is a very pretty, white sand beach with gorgeous, tropical looking water. You do have to pay to park, and the beach is pretty crowded, but if you can find a spot, it’s a great beach to hang out for the day.

The water is very warm and shallow, but still refreshing. There are nice facilities right next to the beach, and everything in and around the beach is very well maintained. We plan on returning to Sombrero Beach to relax and do some swimming. Recommended.

This was beautiful! So many interesting things! I suggest you wear sunscreen and very comfortable shoes and bring water. The fish pedicures were a delightful experience. It tickles. I recommend this experience highly.

A reasonably priced hands on experience with ocean fish and creatures. With 2 aquarium tanks you can watch tropical fish and sharks and eels etc. For an extra fee you can snorkel amongst the fish and feed them.
They also have touch tanks for close up encounters with stingrays and nurse sharks . Turtles and manatees are also exhibited. A good 2-3 hour adventure if you want to experience the wonders of the sea without traveling out on the ocean.

Its about 5 miles from 7 mile bridge. Sombrero light which you have to access by either renting a boat or taking an excursion. Beautiful water and sealife.

Beautiful drive across 7 mile bridge, but especially like biking across the OLD 7 mile pedestrian-bike bridge. It is 2.5 miles each way/ 5 miles total so we ride it twice. No where more beautiful for a bike ride. If lucky you might see sea turtle or sting rays on clear days.

We were surprised to find that this state park is not renting kayaks. You need to bring your own or use an outside provider.

The beach is very small, but we enjoyed walking in the shallow water and seeing the hermit crabs,

We went to see the Christmas lights and they did not disappoint. The lights are gorgeous and you walk through the church garden with the statues that are all beautifully decorated. We went twice while we were in town.
