- keith hChesham, UK1,032 contributionsVery Pleasant Plaza with big trees providing shade , many benches to relax on.
The huge Basilica dominates one side & other sides house cafes & eateries.
Cut up the side of the Basilica to access an open square that hosts various artesans on occasion. A little beyond here is an arcade that houses a few gift shops aimed at tourists.Written October 12, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Inside the ceiling is made with wood.
The square outside is a beautiful tree lined promenade where people of all ages stroll, sit, talk, relax, and eat ice cream sold by yellow uniformed vendors.Written March 10, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Rod PSanta Cruz, Bolivia258 contributionsAt times you would think that the whole of the city of Santa Cruz makes a weekend pligrimage to Cotoca. In reality it is the closes small community to Santa Cruz, it has a large church with a statue of 'The Virgin of Cotoca', it is possible to get your new (or second hand) car blessed here by both the Ctholic Priest or a representative of Pacha Mama. It is possible to buy some interesting garden ornaments made in painted clay (a local speciality) or to chill out in the plaza and watch the Sloths cavort in the trees. If you want to combine a trip to the Botanic Gardens then stop off on the road to Cotoca just before the toll station (3 Bs) and then continue into Cotoca for a typical Bolivian lunch.Written November 3, 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Agustin HSanta Cruz, Bolivia2 contributionsThe place is relatively close to town ( Santiago de Chiquitos). After a hearty home made breakfast, we were taken by our tour guide to this fantastic place. Remember to wear a light long sleeve shirt, a hat, sunglasses and take a bottle of water.Written May 1, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
