nature center. As much as I enjoyed the larger zoos, aquariums, &c this was a bit more intimate and an opportunity to get "up close and personal" w/ the animals. The octopus apparently knew folks were watching as it put on a show working its way back and forth and up and down in the aquarium. The turtles and rays were extremely entertaining as they surfaced and would splash as many as they could who were close to the tank. Lots of other fish and exhibits as well as a nice raptor center (unfortunately I missed the raptor show) w/ about a dozen different majestic birds.
The docents w/ whom I spoke were very friendly and informative and enjoyed sharing what they knew and seemed to "know" their animals.

Only 40 minutes south of the San Ysidro/San Diego border, this lovely small town has it all! A variety of places to stay, with the historic Rosarito Beach Hotel standing out, you can eat fancy or cheap and all of it good and fairly priced! Want California Fusion Cuisine? Try Susanna's! Fabulous tacos...most anywhere "on the street." Sensational Mole? We love Cazuela de Mole. You can't stay long enough to eat all the good food! Great wide sand beach, fun drinking spots! What else could you ask for? GO!

What a great walk, the sea breezes, sunny weather, happy people, the Marina..I could go on and on.
The ease of parking down here and slower pace is a welcome relief from the hustle and bustle of LA...

What an inspirational place for Olympic athletes! The guided tour allowed us to see the various training facilities and tracks!
The dedication this facility has for athletes from around the world!
I will stand up a bit straighter when the Winter Olympics start next month

We visited in February when the weather was overcast. Few visitors disturbed our peace and quite. We had a picnic on the grass and watched the waves and gulls. It was a great way to spend a Saturday.

This offers a secret walking trail on the water. The salt beds offer a myriad of colors depending on the time of day. Watch out for cyclists.

Extremely welcoming (owner, staff & regulars). Their Michelada is awesome… the mix used is homemade. Beers are quite drinkable with the lager being perhaps the most drinkable one we’ve ever had.

This is the perfect place to walk around and be tranquil or for a nice picnic with yourself or others. I often like going to this place by myself and with friends. The surroundings are quiet, there is vegetation and running water coming down from the mountains. The scenery is not what you would expect, and you will be surprised and happy you drove out to visit.

Great addition to Rice Canyon. Good for picnics and exercise, as well as softball and other games. Great starting place for walks and bike rides up and down Rice Canyon.

3rd Avenue has been revitalized and has some great dinning options. It is also a very nice stroll. Parking is a little hard to find because restaurants are using what was parking as outdoor dining. There are side streets so you might just have a small walk.

located south of San Diego CA in Chula Vista is this nice littl;e music venue. numerous food/alcohol businesses are located here. seating is good, not too tight. a grassy area is located to the rear of the amphitheater. no outside foodr or drink is allowed except for ONE 20oz or smaller unopened plastic bottle even though I did see people come in with EMPTY reusea ble bottles. parking is so-so.

My Dad ( now 96) actually started the museum with several others from the city. Greg Cox was a big supporter of the museum. They finally had to close the museum on 3rd Ave because the termites had caused a lot of damage and it was torn down. They moved the museum to the library and have had multiple exhibits since then. There is no cost to the public. the exhibits are very well done.
