The stops at the Church of Mary and the Church of St. Paul were great and our guide, Yosef, did a great job of highlighting the significance of the events. After the churches it was time for the 30+ min obligatory stop at the kitschy gift shop before heading to the Sea of Galilee. The village on the shores of Galilee was surprisingly serene and beautiful and it was easy to transport yourself to biblical times. During your $20-$25 banquet room style lunch stop (not including drinks) just know that the tilapia from Galilee is served as a whole fish, not a filet, so if this bothers you go for the red snapper which is a traditional breaded and fried fish filet. We also stopped at the Jordan River baptism site which, was beautiful and sentence and also custom built for individual and group baptisms with ramps, etc. to access the water easily. Our guide did depart the tour early because his home was on the north side of Tel Aviv which created some confusion on the tour drop off stops. Tip would have been double had he not chosen to exit early.

After a group of 8 persons initially boarded the wrong bus (a mix up with a different tour company) Bein Harim went out of their way to help us. They arranged for our group to be picked up and got us onto the correct bus. We had tour guide Dan who was very friendly and knowledgeable. The tour itself is great, the Sea of Galilee, Nazareth and Capernaum are both interesting and beautiful. Definitely worth your money.

We arranged a 3-day private tour with Guided Tours of Israel for 11 of us while our ship docked in Ashdod and Haifa. We used their service 11 years ago.
Our guide for all 3 days was Ryan. We all agreed that he was one of the BEST guides if not the BEST we ever had in the last 15 years of travelling around the world. Ryan was at the ports before our starting time waiting for us. He was informative, pleasant. passionate about his presentation and professional.
He would adjust his plan after we requested visits to couple of places not in the itinerary. Most importantly, he made sure that we returned to the ports safely before the cutoff time.
Leo in the office was also very informative, giving us clear instructions as to what to expect. He would reply instantly to our inquiries. The vans Leo sent us were comfortable and clean. We had a different driver each day.
Early December is a great time to visit Israel with less crowd and nice and cool temperature.
We learned so much this time from Ryan. It was overall an excellent tour.

See almost everything with great guides.
I was quite worried though when our driver hit 155 km/he on the return trip from Jerusalem to Tel Aviv and then abused our guide in a very chauvinistic way.

We took the tour in Spanish, overall the tour is well organized and the guide beforehand told us about the itinerary. The only bad point was that at the end, we had to go to Tel Aviv and the company arranged our transfer to Jerusalem in a private taxi. Because of this we lost some time. Other than that, the experience was good.

Shachar is an amazing guide. His knowledge of history both ancient and recent is incredible. His delivery of so many stories was delightful. He was always careful to provide facts in a way that didn’t carry any bias. With so many opinions on historical facts and meanings, he didn’t drive his too deeply and made us feel comfortable yet informed. I wholeheartedly recommend his tour to anyone. We had a wonderful time for all three days. He took great care of us even arranging a Jeep tour through the desert. We had a wonderful time and felt we were saying goodbye to a good friend when we left. 5 stars all the way.

Book your trip with Tripadvisor in advance because it’s much cheaper than buying it in Israel. This is a great trip for religious and non religious people. I’m not sure why Tiberias was included in the advert because we didn’t go anywhere near it.
A pick up coach came to our hotel which was great but then we went somewhere outside Tel Aviv and waited 1.5 hours for the Tel Aviv coach to arrive! . Eventually a mini coach arrived but there were not enough seats for all of us. Both of the guides seem to be totally disorganised and arguing with each other. The mini coaches are really narrow with very small seats. We have ended up on a Spanish speaking coach although the guide did translate everything into English.
Lunch was served at a place called St Peters Fish. My husband is vegetarian and was told that he can pay 22 shekels for a buffet but when they collected the money they asked for 45. The menu was supposed to include dates and coffee for desert but they never arrived. When I asked about it someone brought 5 dates on a small plate for a table of 10 people! And the coffee was dishwater served in tiny plastic glasses, absolutely disgusting. The restaurant staff was very rude.
So, in conclusion great trip if you can avoid the small coaches and St Peters fish restaurant.

Our guide Ofir was amazing! He was very knowledgeable. Ofir made the excursion one of the best. The port pick up was super easy.
The only downside was the lunch stop. We were not informed that you must pay in cash. Every meal option was $25. This left us borrowing money from friends. Skip the lunch and go into the next door mart. They sell great flatbread.

Overall, Bein Harim does very good day tours from Tel Aviv. This one is no exception as the tour guide and sites visited were all top notch. However, I have to comment on the one event that was not top notch. The entire tour was take to lunch at the Tamar restaurant where we were offered 3 lunch choices all for $27 each. Many of us felt that this lack of choice of entrees was odd and at the same time expensive. Drinks cost extra. I had the chicken skewers which were mediocre at best and no where near worth the $27 price tag. In addition, all the tour participants were required to sit together at a long table for the meal. Some of us would have liked to spend some time in our own groups given the tour group was together on the bus and at each venue. I would recommend bringing some food for lunch if you take this tour and decline the tour guides proposal of the Tamar restaurant. There is seating outside of the restaurant. Otherwise, the tour is well worth the time and cost.

Despite booking this tour through Viator as “7-Night Israel Highlights and Biblical Tour”, it merges with “Highlights Tour”, organized by CTO.

Overall, I found this tour to be a great way to get to know Israel. As it’s only a 7-night tour, time is a constraint as to how much one can see and visit.

The tour started in Jerusalem and gradually moved north to Galilee and the Golan Heights before heading west to the coast (Haifa) and south to Tel Aviv. Our guide, Pauli, and the bus driver were both great. Be aware that this tour can be physically demanding as mornings start early and there’s a fair bit of walking under the melting sun. There were also two optional tours we took: i) boat crossing of the Sea of Galilee, and ii) the Dead Sea.

In addition to all the amazing historical places we visited, we spent two nights at the beautiful Hagoshrim Kibbutz. It completely changed my perception of a kibbutz.

The only negative feedback I have relates to the hotel we stayed at in Jerusalem (Jerusalem Gate Hotel). Our hotel room and bathroom were quite dirty and breakfast was mediocre at best. In all fairness, when we booked the tour we opted for the cheaper room, but I could not imagine it would be this bad.

All in all, I highly recommend this tour, but some heads-up regarding the hotel in Jerusalem would have been nice.

Zvi was incredible. He took us to all the sites and the best places to eat...not your average touristy type of restaurants. He knew the ins and outs of Israel and his knowledge of history was beyond compare. He does it all with a smile and and always had us laughing at something funny. He was the best. I don't speak Hebrew so sorry to not fill out the other info correctly. We visited Nov. 22

We extremely fortunate to have chosen Viator specifically "Christian Sites by the Sea of Galilee. it occured on Dec. 8, 2022. Our tour operator was Mr. Abu Shay who was formerly a professor in history and now a tour guide for Bein Harim Inc. We were especting 40 passengers in a tour bus, and to our delight there are oly 6 of us in small van driven by Abu Shay. This was also our 50th Anniversary for the month of December. Well, Mr. Shay gave us the best gift by going to Church of Cana our first stop. There, we renewed our vows while he acted as videographer and our fellow travelers became our wedding guests. Truly memorable!!! From Church of Cana, we proceeded to Church of Mt. Beatitude. Another surprise, we visited Yigal Alon Museum which is unknown to many tours. It is a place where you can find the ancient firsherman boat from Jesus time. From there we visited Magdala, birthplace of Mary Magdalene. A place that is reverred by Jewish and Christian Church. We thought our 10 hour tour ended there, however Mr. Shay would like to go our of his way to please everybody. Instead of going back to Tel Aviv, he proceeded to River Jordan and visited Yardenit, a place in Israel where baptism of immersion are done which are popular among tourists.

Magdala was so impressive. This is where Jesus walked, taught would have been to the markets, etc. when excavating the site they found a Tiberias coin dated 29AD. The synagogue was there long before. Jesus was HERE. It is a beautiful location in Galilee. The topography is beautiful. I kept thing “Jesus saw this”. COME!! Don’t miss the Magdalene Church. It is the first church dedicated to all women. I believe it is the first of its kind.

First, I cannot stress enough that the small group tour is worth the extra price. The tour itself in the mini-bus was very enjoyable with a knowledgeable and respectful guide. I very much appreciated how our guide explained the sites outside and let us walk through the churches and experience the sites ourselves after receiving the explanation, instead of disrupting other visitors and services and blocking access to sites by having us form in a group in small spaces. I think this should be done by all tours. Regardless of one's religion, this is an interesting and beautiful tour of the northern region which is filled with historic sites. If people have more time, it looked very nice to spend a night at a hotel on the sea of galilee. The one huge downside was the pickup process. I was the third pickup in the "big pickup coach" and it was already 30 minutes late. We then drove around picking up people (sometimes only a couple minutes apart) for over two hours. Many people had to change transportation multiple times and wait for long periods to be picked up. It would be much more considerate to have two to three pickup places and everyone is responsible for getting to these pick up places themselves. It is not worth it to be picked up at your hotel.

It is hard to express how great of a guide David was. With his knowledge of archeology, he is able to give insights that other cannot.
We hired David for 2 days, one day was the Sea of Galilee and surrounding areas, and day 2 was around Ceasarea and Megiddo.
David was so patient with all of our questions. With his PhD in Archeology his answers were far beyond what we experienced with other tour guides.
We had a fun two days with David and his driver, Yulik. And, as a bonus, the shawarma places we went to for lunches were superb.
When we went to Jerusalem, we sure missed David and his insights!
We hope to return to Israel and will definitely be hiring David.
    100% recommend!
