- Play with SCagayan de Oro, Philippines1 contributionIt was a really smooth, fun and exhilarating experience, especially for a solo traveller like me. I texted their number posted on FB and they replied immediately. The guides are very knowledgeable, not just of rafting itself, but also of the place where we conducted the activity. Though I was a solo traveller who availed the joiners package in the lower section, I never felt out of place since the group I was in was so cool and the guide, Sir Tata, was so much fun with a lot of jokes. - Stephanie B9 contributionsScuba de Oro spoiled us on their dive boat and now nowhere will ever compare to our time diving with them. Our divemaster Mimai was so patient and let us go at our own speed. This is very important to us as photographers. He was also good at spotting the small critters for me to photograph. Ronnel was super helpful as the deckhand but more importantly was a fantastic chef. He made us banana cue as a treat between the first and second dives. Then prepared a delicious hot lunch for us between dives two and three. My favorite was his monggo, it warmed me from the inside on a cool windy day. Allan was our captain and despite non ideal weather during our stay, he always kept us safe and in a good spot for diving. The crew understood enough English that we got by. But their warm hearts and kindness made us feel so welcome. It proved that human connection is not bound by words but simple actions and something like a love of the ocean to bring us all together. I can’t recommend them enough. Our three weeks of diving with them was not enough. - matts bManila, Philippines3 contributionsI've been to CDO 3 times. For the first 2 times, people have been asking me to try white water rafting. To be honest I didn't try it because I was afraid, and I'd feel guilty every time I come home. White water rafting is THE attraction of Cagayan de Oro. So finally, in my 3rd time I went. My dad decided to come along too. We ended up joining the Bugsay Water Rafting group.
I like them. They handled us well, and were very professional. Their equipments were great too.
We went through 14 rapids all in all. Some of the rapids were strong. But if you follow and listen to your guide, you'd be very safe. The sceneries around the river were peaceful and nice as well. - bing v1 contributionIt's a little bit dissappointing. Theirs nothing much to see and do. But if your looking for a quite place and a nature lover you may like this place. They have a restaurant the food is quite good and they have a nice service. The staff are very polite. - CGY-CDOCagayan de Oro, Philippines7 contributionsThis is the only Whitewater kayak outfitter in the Philippines that uses hard-shell, high-end brand, top-of-the-line Sit-In whitewater kayaks such as Riot brand, Dagger brand, Wavesport brand, Perception brand and more.
Their customer to guide/trainer ratio is 3:1, so customers are always given quality services and training.
Whitewater kayaking is usually done in the lower section of the Cagayan river where the whitewater rafting is carried out.
For running Class 1,2,2+ rapids, the Put-in is at Taguanao Bridge and Take-out at Kala-kala or even up to Puntod-Kauswagan Bridge.
For running Class 2,3 rapids, the Put-in is at Cabula Bridge and Take-out is at Taguanao Bridge or even down the lower section of Cagayan River.
For running Class 2,3,3+ rapids, the Put-in can be at Uguiaban Bridge or at Mambuaya and Take-out is usually at Cabula.
They also sell whitewater kayaks, gears and accessories.
