There were only 2 of us on this 9-day camping safari in the Okavango Delta. The arrangements were easy and they were very clear about what to expect. Mark worked with me to design the itinerary we wanted. The price was good for what was basically a private safari. We had a cook, a driver/guide and a general helper. They were all good at what they did but also fun and flexible. They took very good care of us. We really enjoyed our time with them.
Camping was comfy: a stand-up tent, cots with clean, newish bedding, more blankets than we needed (it was pretty hot until the rain started). The bathroom was rustic but functional. We camped in 4 different locations so as to see more different habitats. Every time we changed sites, the guys would break down, pack up and set up at the new one, all while we were out on safari or sitting in our chairs watching (honestly, we sometimes felt guilty). The food was plentiful and very delicious, especially because Shine was cooking over a campfire.
The wildlife and the birds were everything we hoped for. Kem asked us at the beginning what we wanted to see and tried to give us the experience we were looking for. He knew where to find water which seemed to be the best places to see wildlife, and 3 of our camps were very close to water. Many nights we heard the hippos walking past our tent. And one day a pack of wild dogs ran through our campsite chasing impala. We were able to watch them hunt and even catch prey.
Overall, it was a great experience and I highly recommend this company. Thanks to you all!

The other reviews posted here, when taken in total, sum up my experience with Sam and his Early Kingfisher Safari team. I've been to Africa many times; this was my second trip to Botswana this year. I know there are lots of lodges and Safari groups to choose from, I can't say enough good things about Sam and his ability to manage a mobile safari. He is hands down the best. If you want to experience Botswana in its beautiful natural state and spend your time with all of the animals and birds, then you cannot go wrong in choosing Early Kingfisher.

During the previous trip in 2024, we stayed at a luxury lodge and it was a miserable experience; late starts and early returns from game drives, overcrowded vehicles, poor lodge management, too many other people, long drawn-out dinners with just ok food, some of the guides lacking experience and a number of other issues, it’s a long list. This is not to say all lodges are bad, we've stayed at game lodges and had a wonderful time, but they are a different experience. Setting aside the lodge we stayed at I saw the potential that Moremi Game Reserve had for seeing all the animals in the wild and I started to plan a return trip almost as soon as I left. I faced the same problem you may be facing now....how to figure out the best possible trip. The one advantage I had is I knew I did not want to risk staying at another lodge. I read through hundreds of reviews, considered renting a vehicle and hiring a private guide, then tried to narrow down 50 or more mobile safari companies, it was impossible to make a clear choice. In the end I spoke with Sam by phone, he gave quick logical answers and followed with regular personal communication. I had a good feeling; in some ways I trusted my gut and made the booking...in the end I really lucked out. The trip with early Kingfisher surpassed any and all expectation I had....by a lot!

I do tours with guests. This was my first using The Old Bridge.
It was a total success. My guests loved it and so did I.
The crew of 3 doing the camp and food did a great job.
Modumo who was our guide was a separate story. His knowledge was immense and his way of passing it on spotless. He was a gentleman with a load of knowledge.
Thanks for spending time with us Modumo

My husband and I enjoyed 3 nights at Karangoma. The accommodation, service and food were wonderful and we were looked after well by the awesome staff. Each day on safari we saw lots of animals. Big thanks to Lets and Robson who while respecting the animals enabled us to safely get really close to them. After successfully tracking a leopard it was a truly emotional moment when she slowly walked in front of us and sat down. Elephants feeding in the water also wandered close while we were in a mokoro. Such a special time,

We did a day trip to Moremi Game Reserve with Imela Wilderness. The service was just out of this. We left Gaborone by flight to Maun where they collected us from the airport to our hotel. We were informed that our day trip will start at 0600hrs and at exactly 0545 hours our guide was already waiting for us at the hotel. It was a 2 hours drive to Moremi. The guide, Gibson was really good and his 4x4 driving skills were out of this world. We had our breakfast upon arrival, did a moring game drive until around 1200 hrs, then had our packed lunch which was really nice. Drinks were also on board and we had an opportunities to see elephants, baboons, buffalo, a lion pride, giraffes, zebra and a lot of other animals and birds. It really felt like a little heaven on earth and just wished the trip could not end. The day went by so quick. We returned back to Maun at around 1600 hrs.

Botswana is a wonderful and beautiful country, and experiencing a piece of this land with TK is a gift. During our 3 days with TK as guide we learned so much about the country, the culture, nature and the animals. TK is very knowledgeable and finds even a hidden leopard where no one would look for it.
We had an amazing evening with TK chasing the trails of a lion family and finally found a beautiful male with a female lion and 4 cubs. It was a magical moment and TK with his respect of nature knows exactly how to be close to them without interfering in their natural behaviour.
As a licensed walking safari guide, this was a special experience TK had offered to us
He became a friend as we felt we could chat about everything with him while doing game drives on land or sea.
We wish we can come back and do more adventures with TK soon and recommend it 100% to everyone :)
In summary: we had different guides in Botswana and they are all good but TK made a difference and turned out to be the BEST!!!!!

MG and his team prepared a perfect itinerary for our trip to Maun,Botswana. The campsites, transfers between campsites and from and back airports, guide in Kasane were perfectly planned. We had no glitches at all during the trip. MG was in constant contact during the planning stages of our team and always very responsive to our questions. He helped us with selecting our campsites and picked wonderful routes for our drives and stays for. We also had a phone call closer to the beginning of our trip where MG answered all our questions. Would highly recommend the company for your travel needs in Botswana.

On our trip with Baxanekhwe Safaris we spent 2 weeks in Moremi Game Reserve and the Okavango Delta. Thanks to our guide Teko - who also is a very skilled tracker - we had many wonderful encounters with wild animals. Most amazing for me was to see how Teko tracked a pack of wild dogs who were known to be in the area. After other guides had given up and driven off with their guests, Teko found the wild dogs.

We stayed in mobile camps that were set up by staff. The tents were spacious and even had a bathroom with toilet and shower. The chef prepared the most delicious meals for us, and all staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

A special thanks goes to the office staff in Maun. Because of a missed flight connection I arrived one day late, and the rest of the group was already in the bush. Thanks to a lift the staff gave me in their private car, I could catch up with the group on the evening of my arrival.

Kaiser was our guide on a safari to Chobe National Park and the Okavango Delta for a week at the end of August 2023. We had a truly phenomenal experience. Kaiser was extremely knowledgeable. He spotted animals hidden in the surrounding landscape that we would have never seen. He was friendly, personable, and professional. We would highly recommend using him as a guide.
