Lovely beach. Currently under maintenance with new boardwalk being built. Seemed to be around 75% completed along the Ouen Toro end end with the 25% yet to be done along the Aquarium end with good progress being made. Where the works has been done the boardwalk is lovely to walk along. Locals and visitors alike seem to come here to enjoy the beach and hanging out. Great place to be for sunset as it can be viewed very clearly from here.

The beach is delightful, and the only one currently open for swimming, with a mix of locals and a few tourists. It was calm and we didn't have wind...just a gentle, cooling breeze .
We stayed at Mocambo, which was friendly and fun. Great value and allowed us to do some of our own catering. Mocambo is just around the corner from the bay, a 2 minute walk, and between Anse bay and the city market.
Great for a relaxing holiday with a bit of walking along beautiful waterfront

Came for the drive nearly 2hours from Nouméa pretty spot even though the weather was not the best water was dirty due to the recent rain. Quite a few locals enjoying the water. Amazing views from up high. The roads are a little rough in places be careful of pot holes.

Recommended by our travel agent this was a stand out of our recent trip. It caters to most tastes and capabilities from short walks to a slightly longer treks on well formed paths or an hour to several hours or more challenging walks. A great introduction to the west coast temperate forests of New Caledonia. We particularly like that its employees are drawn from the surrounding communities and the level of pride that is going into this place.

The one thing to watch out for is the drive in. It rapidly becomes a one-liner tortuous track. Traversable by a two-wheel drive vehicle but care is needed.

Overall highly recommended for a half day to day. Bring your own food

This is a 4km dedicated sealed walking and cycling tracks on the eastern side of Noumea, overlooking several bays and beaches, wih magnifcen views to the neaby islans. There are man large free parking areas, public toilets, bench seats and restaurants along the way. The southern end of the Promenade is being rebuilt into a large paved area and will look fantasic when it's finished shortly.

this was our first trip, we didn't book anything on the cruise or before the cruise( it cost more then booking it that day, and one option had closed down leaving a few out of pocket) upon getting off boat on to an bus then off in town at park were there were lots of pop ups tourist attractions targeting us, being a bit overwhelmed we just decided to get the red hop on hop off bus to Lenon bay for some snorkeling. it was fantastic we seen in an enclosed beach lots of fish, shell animals as well as turtles. the beach was easy to access being next to main road and bus drop off. the bus ride was open all day and could do multi stops, we got to see a lot of the town by bus ands its amazing steep streets to the housing fauna. loved this option gave us lots of stop options like the markets, shopping center, the sea aquarium ect.

On arrival at Poindimie it was a huge disappointment for us to find trips booked out for the next 3 days.
BUT within two hours Martin had contacted us to advise they had cancellations the following day and we were in!
This turned out to be the absolute highlight of our New Caledonian holiday.
Martin, with the assistance of Adele, runs a professional, personable, slick and well organised business. All equipment provided - wet suits, snorkeling equipment and sea sick tablets!
As an older couple (the only non French speaking), with minimal snorkeling experience, Martin was an amazing guide for us within a group of six. His enthusiasm, inclusiveness and care of us during the two one hour dives (25 minutes off shore by boat) was exceptional. The coral and marine life was truly mesmerising.
The ability of Martin and Adele to guide and cater for 12 clients and at the same time carry out superb photography (available almost immediately afterwards) was truly astonishing.
A trip that will never be forgotten and highly recommended. Thanks Martin and Adele for this memorable experience. Harry and Diana (Whanganui NZ).

We had 3 days in Noumea & booked this boat trip before we left home (a couple of months prior). We were very pleased we’d pre booked it. There were 4 boats taking small groups of people to the island. They were organised and gave clear instructions on the process. We enjoyed the speedy boat trip to the island and appreciated Dal Ocean lending us a noodle and snorkel set while on the island. Also the main guy stayed on the island and gave advice to those that required it He also had a first aid kit with him. Staff were friendly & helpful. We swam right near several turtles which we loved!! The scenery is gorgeous!!!

    Simply outstanding. A must do.
A truly unique experience in a beautiful rainforest just outside Noumea.
Thrilling, exhilarating. Just great fun and perfect for families (even our 6 year old worked up the courage to do a couple of runs by herself). So good.
Our guides, Stanley and Andrew, were just wonderful people. Warm, engaging, professional, patient, generous. Gentlemen.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time at this experience and really valued the experience.
For anyone visiting Noumea, it is well worth the half a day.
My wife dealt with Erin, and say she was a pleasure to deal with and all instruction were immaculate. In fact, all communications, including the guides were perfect.
Merci beaucoup team. See you on our next trip!

We have had the absolute pleasure of booking multiple times with Fernando in New Caledonia. You could not meet a nicer, kinder and more vibrant person who will take so much care and consideration to your needs as Fernando.
He is a very funny person and super enthusiastic to make sure your stay in New Caledonia is everything you would wish for.
He was so helpful and informative to us before and during our stay.
He will guide you to what activities would suit you and give you lots of very useful local information.
I HIGHLY recommend Fernando and encourage anyone going to New Caledonia to connect with him.

    Très bien! Excellent!! Highly recommended.

My boyfriend and I spent a 2D1N sailing adventure with Abaca in Jan 2024 and it turned out amazing and beautiful memory!

Yves, a former commander in the French Navy in New Caledonia, was our captain, and he proved to be an incredibly interesting and friendly person. We explored Lighthouse Island and some other uninhabited islets, where Yves patiently pointed out the tracks left by turtles making their way onto the islands. He also played music, shared insights into the customs and traditions of Nouméa, and Nathalie cooked us very yummy local food!

In addition to snorkeling and kayaking activities, I also enjoyed some incredibly quiet and immersive moments on the boat, surrounded only by nature, indulging in leisurely reading.

We went on a 4 hour private tour in Noumea with Joel. It was awesome. He was so friendly and took us to all the places we wanted to see. He had amazing stories you only get from chatting with a local

My whole family enjoyed the experience - we visited Ouen Toro, Tjibaou Cultural Centre, a milkshake bar (best we have ever had!), the fresh water springs, Geant Mall plus skimming stones at Kuendu Beach

Would happily recommend everyone at Gateaway Tours

What a wonderful way to experience this beautiful part of the world. We took a one hour scenic flight in a two seater plane (just me & the fabulous pilot Gilbert).

Gilbert knew exactly how to take the best photos. He was knowledgeable and funny, and pointed out sharks, turtles, sea cows, fish, people, walking tracks, hearts in the water, crab farms and so much lace coral along the reef.

He also made a great referral to the Hotel Poe afterwards, and a cocktail by the Sheraton pool.

My husband was next up and while waiting I was able to relax in the hangar with coffee and a seat in the shade.

Prior to our arrival, Fabian was very easy to communicate with and quick to respond. We had been concerned about the weather at this time of the year, and were so fortunate with a clear window to fly.

    Highly recommend!
