We spent 3 hours walking and admiring the sculptures and gardens by this wonderful artist. The reception staff is knowledgeable and eager to assist in maximizing your enjoyment here. The detailed brochure lays out the garden routes, sculptures to be seen and categories of artwork. The hand and eye of the talented Mr. Lewis in designing this garden are exquisitely apparent. A short break in the cafe for coffee and mini cakes was delicious and well earned. This is a beautiful site to absorb and enjoy nature and sculptures in perfect harmony.

Popped in for a walk around and ended up having breakfast

A nice family friendly spot with plenty to do for the kids. Small selection of market stalls and a food court offering international choices

Plenty of shade if sunny and a big selection of food and drink available. Our restaurant breakfast was very good

The food market is only open on Saturdays and Sundays but is well worth the visit, a wide range of foods from the typical cuisines you’d be hungry for. Great value for money when you convert it back into £s and there’s a large outdoor area to relax in the sun and can also do a bit of shopping.

During the week the upstairs restaurant has a great view at sunset should you want to go for dinner.

Parking at the weekend is quite busy though so bear that in mind.

We bought one of Gavin's pictures in the early 2000s. ANd it was great to discover his gallery in Stellenbosch and see the evolution. Of his work. And that the landscape we still love was also a great investment ;-)

Not the smartest mall I have ever visited, but there is great Woolies on the second floor, with a great upmarket food section.

A beautiful art gallery situated in the heart of Stellenbosch. I'd recommend a visit for anyone interested in seeing some of South Africa's best fine art on display.

Had 3 hours till my flight. Popped in at Meerlust and what a surprise. Not the typical commercialised winefarm but rather a friendly typical farm setup. Host set me up in front of the fireplace with a glass of the best wine I've had in a long time. This is the place for quality rather than quantity. Will be back soon.

What a treasure we found. Small farm with a small selection of reds and Ports but every wine I tasted was absolutely amazing and wish I could have walked away with their Chalbert wine! A wine that is truly remarkable but unfortunately not affordable to me. I did buy a Port and a Merlot though. Thoroughly enjoyed our visit and a very knowledgeable young gentleman explained the wines to us. Thank you we'll be back. 🤗

We did the red wine tasting. Adele is a great host and allow time to consider and experience great red wine and make a decision what tastes the best for you.

The shop is an colorful experience with jewelry paintings and indigenous art. The owner Porchie is a warm and friendly host who invites you into his creative space. A Bonus if he is in the shop when you visit.

We visited Alto as part of a U3a group of 40-50 persons on a wine and dine outing. An excellent setting . Parking was adequate. This was undoubtedly one of the best we have attended.
Alto rose magnificently to a challenging situation. The red wines, as expected, were excellent and served chilled on a hot day and well presented by a knowledgeable Hospitality Manager. We gave all the wines above average ratings. My wife and I shared a very good medium rare steak and a correctly prepared Caesar salad ( the poached egg was also soft). The service could not be faulted. We would happily visit again.

It is an amazing and quite big store. You need to ring to get in, or push a button or so. Safety everywhere here.
