And stop for a cinnamon roll at the little coffee/ice cream truck in front of the event center. All the ppl working the shops were so nice and welcoming. Being able to observe bears in their natural habitat is an experience I will never forget. Although we went late in the season (mid September), we saw lots of bears. Being able to see the bears swimming, fishing, and devouring their catch mere feet away is something I will never forget. - Val6 contributionsThis was easily the best thing we did in Alaska (and the best thing we have done on any trip)! Our guide was incredibly knowledgable and we felt safe the entire trip. Emerald Air provided waders and boots to keep us dry and made sure we knew how to behave around the bears.
We were able to see over 20 bears and multiple sets of cubs over the course of our tour and got great photos of them all!

The crew did an awesome job of getting us on fish. They also worked very hard to get all the fish we were allowed to have. They were very friendly and helpful. We saw plenty of sea otters, a couple bald eagles, some puffins, sea stars (aka star fish), sea anemone, and various type of other birds than previously mentioned. - Terri FLancaster, WI25 contributionsWOW!! Highly recommend this trip. Communication beforehand was highly professional. The day of the actual trip we reviewed at the hangar, safety details. The pilot was amazing, I immediately felt very safe in her presence, both in the plane and on ground! The flight itself was worth the expense! I thoroughly enjoyed 'floating' through the mountains for an hour there and back. Once we arrived to Lake Clark it was incredibly beautiful! We were able to see a few bears, I actually appreciated that we had to 'work for it'. Captain very graciously stopped and waited for the whale to resurface 3-4 times so everyone could get a video of it. Third time I've taken the tour and enjoy it each and every time. - Michael T4 contributionsWe used the ninilchik as transports for our Sitka Blacktail hunt, and they were incredible hosts! Captain Eric in first made Dillon were incredible to work with and very accommodating. Couldn’t ask for two better guys to be stuck on a boat with for a week. They cooked us great meals every day and made sure we had everything we needed to be successful. We got up close to the bears and our pilots/guides did a great job keeping everyone safe while getting as close as possible. - CindyKirkThorold, Canada73 contributionsI can not imagine better guides than Spencer or Jensen. Spencer, for our Tour met us at the docks and shuttled us back and forth. A super nice young man who sets up your day and rounds it off with easy conversation and starts to build your excitement on the way out and highlights it on the way back. Jensen was our EXPERT Guide for the day. Wow! Super polite, confident and knowledgeable. He's the type of guy who puts everyone at ease; delivers life saving safety instruction so you understand and remember it without scaring the pants off you; and talks about bear safety in such a way you know you are in good hands (we did not encounter a bear). We are average retired mid 60's and the trek is fun, doable but certainly a challenge. You immediately go up over the hill on a single track mud and root path. Now Jensen never stops speaking. Describing the micro climates, flora, fauna, his history, your history, the war of 1812, Atlanta, Halibut Cove, Alaska living etc, etc, etc. All the while you walk and get there. It is a wonderful 'trick' to keep you both engaged and plodding forward. And then, YOU ARRIVE at the glacier. Indescribable beauty. Breathtaking. The lake was full of stunning blue ice icebergs. The glacier amazing. Jensen fantastic. The shore lunch is whatever you bring. I suggest hearty sandwiches with proteins and bulk because you expend it. Then back you go retracing your steps. This is ALASKA! Saw 7 bears, one mother with cubs and she nursed them. when flying in we saw beautiful mountain peaks and glaciers. When any other family members come visit, we are going to recommend Beryl Air to get the best views of Alaska. Andrei is an incredibly talented, kind, and caring guide who went out of his way to give us a spectacular trip! We learned so much during our time with him.
