- Joy M1 contributionFantastic experience! Perspective from the water is amazing! Our guide was so knowledgeable, I was completely inspired to go buy a book and learn more about the area! It was a real treat to see a bear on the shore, sea otters close-up, stunning scenery, blown away!! Can’t wait until next time!Written September 27, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- CindyKirkThorold, Canada73 contributionsI can not imagine better guides than Spencer or Jensen. Spencer, for our Tour met us at the docks and shuttled us back and forth. A super nice young man who sets up your day and rounds it off with easy conversation and starts to build your excitement on the way out and highlights it on the way back. Jensen was our EXPERT Guide for the day. Wow! Super polite, confident and knowledgeable. He's the type of guy who puts everyone at ease; delivers life saving safety instruction so you understand and remember it without scaring the pants off you; and talks about bear safety in such a way you know you are in good hands (we did not encounter a bear). We are average retired mid 60's and the trek is fun, doable but certainly a challenge. You immediately go up over the hill on a single track mud and root path. Now Jensen never stops speaking. Describing the micro climates, flora, fauna, his history, your history, the war of 1812, Atlanta, Halibut Cove, Alaska living etc, etc, etc. All the while you walk and get there. It is a wonderful 'trick' to keep you both engaged and plodding forward. And then, YOU ARRIVE at the glacier. Indescribable beauty. Breathtaking. The lake was full of stunning blue ice icebergs. The glacier amazing. Jensen fantastic. The shore lunch is whatever you bring. I suggest hearty sandwiches with proteins and bulk because you expend it. Then back you go retracing your steps. This is ALASKA! Jensen and Spencer, you two are wonderful hosts and guides, Thank You. - Kirk & CindyWritten September 2, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - JulieOh58Belgrade Lakes, ME9 contributionsThis was the most amazing day in the most amazing place topped off by the best guide you could ever ask for. Our awesome captain Ella took us to see an otter flotilla, puffins and other wildlife on our way. Then our guide Aaron started us up the hike. I was the oldest in the group and Aaron made sure I had a helping hand when I needed it - the hike was not bad at all, and easier than I anticipated. When we got to Glacier Lake (WOW) and watched the icebergs shifting it was insane. Then we got into our inflatable (and very secure) kayaks and padded around, ending up on a beach. It was cold there, even in August. Aaron made a fire and had a hot canteen where he made everyone fun drinks like mochas :-) and we roasted s'mores... then he pulled out his carbon guitar. He had a playlist and let us pick a couple of songs. He sang Vienna and I told him to go on the Voice...he is INCREDIBLE. We hiked back down, Ella took us back and he sang a couple more songs. Best day ever...I am sure the other guides are great too, just saying - if you can get Aaron, do it!Written September 6, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Deanise A2 contributionsHad a wonderful time with Capt Paul. Very knowledgeable of the area and fish. Salmon weren't biting much, only got 1 large silver and 3 pinks, but we enjoyed ourselves. The sites are beautiful and Paul is a great captain. We chose Just Add Water because my husband and I were introduced to them last year. Great company.Written August 26, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- LCNYBV23Bellevue, WA4 contributionsOur family adventure on the Lady of the Sea exceeded our expectations! Captain Rand, our adventure guide Erica and chefs Avram and Evan made our trip so memorable, exciting and fun! Our daily excursions were so fulfilling, especially when Captain Rand made it his quest to help our daughter fulfill a dream of seeing Beluga whales! Dreams do come true! Captain Rand always knew where to stop to explore, dine and anchor for the night. We always felt safe, secure and very comfortable. We enjoyed the education and fun facts about Alaska, and were spoiled by delicious, well planned meals daily. The boat was comfortable, clean and so welcoming! We had THE BEST time and highly recommend to all! Thank you so much!Written September 11, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
