Angel was our tour guide and did a great job. We went on a Saturday, which they said is by far the busiest day. It wasn’t too crowded and we felt fine navigating the streets on the walk. We got to try an assortment of fruits such as pineapple, mango, watermelon, and granadilla. Making our own empanada and the coffee tasting was our favorite part. It is quite a bit of walking (1-2 miles I would guess) and the sidewalks/streets are pretty beat up. Just need to watch your step while walking. Overall, great experience!

We took this tour on February 28. It was very well organized. Our guides Angel and Daniel spoke excellent English and were engaged with the group. The Central market was interesting and it was a nice surprise to go inside the National Theatre. The two cocktails they made were quite different than any we have had before. One was bold and spicy and the other was sweet and a bit creamy. Both worth a taste. Finally the tour ended in a house that has been converted to provide a dining experience for the tour participants. It was a delicious four course meal with ingredients popular in Costa Rican culture but not familiar to us.

So the tour gave a bit of history of downtown San Jose, a chance to taste some drinks that may be unfamiliar and wrapped up with a delicious dinner. All this with knowledgeable, friendly and interesting guides.

Very nice trip and Jirge was a very nice guide.
We were in group but in the park we had a freedom to walk around on our own pace, which i like to be independant.
Volcano was amazing, view to the cater was stunning. I went as well to see the lagoon, 30 minutes of climbing.
Later at Mi cafecito, very nice restaurant, we had a lunch, and later detalied tour about caffee, from planting the bushes and whole process up to packing.
    Really recommend this experience.

Wow this absolutely exceeded any expectations could have had! The grounds are stunning and the tour itself is not only informative, but SO fun! The guides were so fun and funny, they made the whole experience a blast! There was lots of coffee to be tasted which was wonderful, and they made the whole experience interactive. I can’t express enough how awesome this was! If you are looking to book a coffee tour THIS is a must!
We stayed after for lunch, and the food was good, we also pursued the butterfly garden as well.

Our guide kept the evening spirited with a manageable itinerary of well-chosen, lively venues and fun drinking games. My fellow bar-hoppers were playful, smart, adventurous, curious, and diverse.

Although the drive is long (2 hours from San Jose), the trip and tour were TOTALLY worth it! During the drive out (in a super comfortable bus) our guides from Greenway pointed out sights, information, and wildlife along the way.

At Tirimbina, they handed us off to a naturalist from the ecological preserve that walked us out to the chocolate tour. The presentation on the preserve took us on a historical, culinary, and sensory experience from raw beans through processed chocolate. We were able to experience and sample throughout the presentation and it was honestly some of the best chocolate we’ve ever tried. It was delicious and really fun, and the park is gorgeous and teeming with wildlife.

After the chocolate tour we stopped for lunch in a location that had a ton of birds and other creatures to see (frogs, coati, etc)

I should perhaps mention that the chocolate sampled is on the pure/more bitter end of the chocolate spectrum. My kids (who are now college students) agreed they might not have appreciated the flavors when they were younger and prefered sweeter chocolate.

If you are looking for a “budget friendly tour” and have a short time to spend in Costa Rica, then you should take this tour.
Don Ricardo was very kind, patient, and fun, besides he is a great driver.
I enjoy shopping souvenirs in Sarchi, as well as spending time in the butterfly garden at Doka coffee farm. The grounds in the coffee farm are lovely!

Great class teaching about the cacao bean, how the bean is made into chocolate, then we made chocolate.

    Fun and educational!

Really great guys and it was a professional session rather than a tourist attraction. Go instead of the usual coffee tours if you want to explore the taste of coffee more than the cultivation

This was an amazing tour. Our guide Alex knew a ton of history and also gave us a really good sense of current events and just how it really is to live in San Jose. I asked him to take us on a tour with not a lot of hills and he totally replanned the route to accommodate. We saw a large number of the famous sitting San Jose and he also took us to a traditional old empanada place and a coffee tasting. Overall an excellent y bike tour and great way to see San Jose in a few hours. Alex again was excellent.

My wife and I had an absolutely amazing time on the bus! We felt like true VIPs throughout the entire experience. The bus itself was fantastic, providing a luxurious atmosphere, and the bars we visited were top-notch. The inclusion of premium liquor as part of the package was a delightful surprise, and having a bathroom on board was a game-changer. We had so much fun that we're already looking forward to repeating the experience. Highly recommended

In-depth look at traditional Costa Rican coffee production. Guides were friendly and knowledgeable. Lots of opportunities to sample different roasts and preparations of coffee. So good we ordered for free delivery to the US.
