- SusieTerrell, TX9 contributionsWe arrived at our location and were immediately greeted by our tour guide, Juan Carlos. He was so friendly and welcoming! The drive to the nature preserve was beautiful with lush tropical forest and the sounds of waterfall stream. We arrived at the walking trails and our guide encouraged us to listen for the voices in the forest. He was right. We may not have seen all the wonderful creatures in the forest, but we definitely heard their sounds. As we made our way on the trail, we saw leaf cutter ants, butterflies, birds and, to our amazement, two granular poison dart frogs. Then we made it to the Ebano waterfall and took a swim. So refreshing! Next we drove to a point on the mountain with a panoramic view of the Pacific Ocean and Playa Dominicalito. Finally, while we swam in the pool of a waterfall, Juan Carlos prepared a delicious traditional Costa Rican lunch. Thank you, Juan Carlos, for an amazing experience!Written February 1, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Megan l1 contributionDuring my stay at Vista Celestial, I did an excursion to Fallas Coffee that included a hike a ways up into the mountain. Esteban (who owns Fallas Coffee) picked us up in his truck and drove us the rest of the way up the mountain. The drive alone, was worth the trip. The views are absolutely stunning. We were greeted on the coffee farm by Esteban's family. They were so welcoming. Esteban gave us a tour of the farm where we picked coffee cherries. We got to help roast and grind the beans. We were a part of the process from start to finish. After the beans were ground, we drank the best coffee I've ever had. It was so clean and smooth. I purchased 10 bags of beans to take home. While we were there, We were served a farm to table meal and ate with Esteban's family. They truly made us feel like we were family as well. After lunch, Esteban drove us back to our resort. I could not have asked for a better, more authentic experience.Written March 12, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sergio CSantiago de Compostela, Spain7 contributionsWe went to this farm last year, we are a family of 5. My wife and I and 3 kids: 10, 14 and 16. The trip from San José can take one hour or more depending on traffic, but most of the trip you have nice views of the mountains and the central valley. This farm is close to Volcan Poas, but this is worth another separate day trip. The tour in the farm is great, they take you around the farm in an adapted agricultural truck that is even a plus during the visit. The main attractions are the organic strawberry plantation, which they explain very well and you even have the opportunity to hand pick a few, and the dairy farm in which you can even milk a cow. Besides that, you can walk through the cloud forest and also get an explanation of the cheese making process.
Overall, this was a great day trip for our family.Written October 20, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - Wilson C2 contributionsGreat people are running this farm
