Shiloh was a great guide! Without him we wouldn’t have seen any of the wildlife in the park. If you’re going to Cahuita make sure to get a guide since the animals camouflage really well.

In the words of our guide expert extraordinaire Ariel, "This will be an experience not just a tour and he was 200% right!!

Ariel was most patient, kind and extremely knowledgeable. He has a firsthand relationship with the BriBri community as it is a part of his heritage.

Ariel took us into the home of a BriBri family who warmly greeted us with a freshly made Lemon drink! We learned about BriBri tradition and daily living.

We walked through the forest and learned about the usage of medicinal plants and we even got to taste them!

We picked cacao plant and learned the process of chocolate from the tree to the table for consumption and the many ways chocolate can be used. We also participated in the process by roasting chocolate, separating the chocolate from the shell and then grinding it. Once we completed the process we made hot chocolate, chocolate with a specific type of banana and made a spread for cookies.

I know without a doubt that this was a unique experience that most humans will never have the opportunity to encounter and for that I am extremely grateful.

We then had the opportunity to go to a waterfall and enjoy the beauty of nature!! We basked in its never ending pool of luscious water! It was a perfect way to end the experience!

But wait there's more! At the top of the waterfall there was the most delightful gentleman Erubey who gleefully served us coco loco and fresh Agua de pipa!

If you are looking for a memorable and edifying Costa Rican experience you must book a trip with Ariel!

Catherine our guide was amazing! She started with giving us the history and culture of Costa Rica. Then the chocolate tour with the Birbri Indians was amazing. It was so humbling to learn the benefits of nature and see it being used by the natives. We then did a short hike to the waterfalls. So serene and beautiful. We ended the tour with the national park where we saw lots of monkeys and even a blue morpha butterfly. We were told these butterflies are only seen in the rainforest. Everyone was so kind and I can’t speak highly enough of Catherine and her team. Definitely would recommend.

We had an amazing time and saw so many animals including sloths, birds, monkeys, bats, lizards, a caiman and a snake. I recommend insect repellant and sunscreen.

Carlos was very knowledgeable about his country. In the national park our guide basically pointed and said look there's a snake or there's a monkey. Basically just seeing some wildlife. The boat ride was interesting and found some more wildlife.

The tranporation was excellent from the cruise port and the tour guide was very informative. It was very crowded in the National Park, however we were able to see sloth, poisonous snakes, large spiders and organic banana plants and paprika plants. The canal ride was less desirable since the ride was very short compared to the rest of the tour. We did see some monkeys and a small caymen. Overall it was ok. We've been to Costa Rica before with Caravan Tours and that experience set the bar for us, so this was a let down. However if you've never been to the country, this tour was ok. The company did try to make everyone happy. They even waited for a couple of people that didn't show up in the begining of the tour for over 30 minutes which in my opinion showed they cared about their customers. (However it cut into our time).
Anyway it's a company you can trust.

This was hardly a "Sloth Lovers" tour...we saw two sloths the entire day. Both were sleeping and curled up in a ball at the very top of a tree...so all we could see were their hind quarters. Very disappointing.
However, the walks through Cahuita Nature park and the boat ride along the Tortuguero canal were pleasant enough. For us, the highlight of the day was the Banana plantation...learning more about how bananas are grown and distributed was surprisingly interesting!
The guide and driver were very friendly and informative...our only complaint was that the title of this tour is misleading. Perhaps revise the tour to include a sanctuary where an actual sloth could be seen up close and personal.

From Start to Finish Destiney Travel made our 10-day vacation Amazing. We started off with the 5-Day Tortuguero NP and Puerto Viejo. The lodging and food in both locations were excellent. The tour guides were all knowledgeable and spoke many languages. Destiny Travel was a what's app call away when ever we had a question on our itinerary and confirming pick-up times along the way. A big shout out to Freddie, one of our drivers and guides from Tortuguerro to PV and then again from Monteverde to the Airport. My only wish is that we would have stayed 1 additional night in PV, to chill and see the village. Instead we went rafting on the Pascuare River, which was amazing.

I highly recommend using Destiney Travel for any Costa Rica Travel! They accommodated our schedule, budget and added days after this tour.

We were lucky and were the only two in the group. Ariel , our, guide was fantastic. We saw sloths, capuchin monkeys, fruit bats lizards and raccoons. We saw many other things as well but can’t remember the names. He was very friendly and knowledgeable. How spotted everything was amazing. I would highly recommend having a guide, especially Ariel,as we would never have spotted anything unless it jumped out in front of us.

We opted to take a tour offered by one of the private vendors approved by our national travel company. It did not disappoint.
Our guide, Alberto, with Greenview Tour Company arranged through Shore Trips was excellent. We’ve had some very bad tour guides, but Alberto is one of the very best - if not the best! He was personable and caring. He was tremendously knowledgeable about his country and everything in it. He worked very hard to be there for everyone in the tour group of 10. He also had a great sense of humor which is always a delightful plus. The driver was also kind and helpful.

Sara organized a wonderful tour full of fun and exciting activities. Gervin was an awesome guide who was very knowledgeable, patient and friendly. Our driver Miguel was an experienced driver who made us feel confortable and safe. The staff made us feel very welcomed like family. I highly recommend Torppical tours to anyone who wants to experience the best adventure in Costa Rica.

I loved the Bird and Herping Tour! I got to see quite a few different species and the team was very knowledgeable and friendly. I would recommend this tour as it had a real local vibe, not very touristy.
