- offthemainroadtravels207 contributionsUpon our adventure through Mobile, AL we hit braided River Brewing in the middle of a summer storm and the stop was worth the visit. When I arrived there I was immediately felt welcomed by staff as they were waiting to show off their brews. The standout to me was Oops All Mango, a double new england ipa, that had all the sweetness of mango with an additional compliment of mango flavor coming from the Azzarca hops which I had never had before. The Summer Crush was an easy sour flavorful beer that on a hot summer day would be perfect to crush, hence the name, while quenching ones’ thirst. I will have to give props to the brewer/owner for the following, I wasn’t quite getting the malt flavor out of their altbier, Alternative Route, so I wasn’t overly impressed with it. The brewer had me rinse my palate with water, take a couple of drinks of their Salty Shores, gose with sea salt, coriander, and lime peel then take a drink of the altbier. The classic German style of the altbier really started to come through after doing all that and really changed my perspective of his beers from some really good beer to some great beer representing their respective style. It’s moments like that I appreciate and leaves a great lasting impression on me as a customer. - JPRaleigh, NC334 contributionsCame here with husband and had a great time! They have plenty of games and indoor/ outdoor seating. We sat outside and were able to move indoors when it started raining. The beers we tried were very good! My husband and I did this tour with another couple, and it was such a fun way to experience different restaurants and learn about some historical landmarks in downtown Mobile. Bella was our tour guide, and I cannot say enough good things about her. Not only was she very knowledgeable about different facts about Mobile, she was easy going and a delight to be around.
