I highly suggest visiting in November or at the start of March during a rainy period - in that case, you can see various streams and currents running through the cave - giving the idea of how various stalactites and stalagmites were formed over the years.

We were stunned by the view at this place. Also about the history and how they have built it manually

This park is very large, and with more time we would have enjoyed exploring more of it. However, with the few hours we had, we chose to visit the Njegos Mausoleum. We drove into the park from the east (near the city of Cetinje) and then left to the west, down the Serpentine into Kotor. The entrance fee of €3 per person was charged as we entered. We had cash available just in case, but the guard did have a connection that let us pay by credit card/Apple Pay. We definitely recommend visiting the Mausoleum area, enjoyed our drive through the Park, and would love to return to explore more of it.

We unfortunately didn't have time to spend at Lake Skadar, but we were able to make a quick stop at this viewpoint while we were driving through the area. We arrived near sunset and the water, sky, and surrounding landscape made for a very beautiful spot.

I will note that there are two ways to reach this point. Our GPS (Waze) directed us via the most direct route, which is a turnoff from M2.3 that leads directly to the viewpoint (which is just next to an abandoned hotel). The switchbacks here were truly scary (thankfully I wasn't driving) and probably the most nervous I felt in all our drives through Montenegro. They are overgrown and very sharp (at one we actually had to take part of the turn, then reverse a bit / three point turn to continue around). I am very thankful we didn't meet anyone coming the other way, because that could have really gotten sketchy.

As we drove out, we took the slightly longer but much less scary road to the east (instead of back due north) past a spot on our map marked as "Ducat's Rock, eventually past Skadar Country House, and then back onto M2.3, where a left turn had us back on the road about 3 miles before we passed our original turnoff and continued on our way towards Cetinje. I enjoyed that route much more!

We were visiting the lovely quiet city of Cetinje which is the old capital of Montenegro & decided to visit the monastery of St Peter. It has a lovely old church within with many artifacts & the walls are covered in ancient frescos. A very peaceful place to be, as is this old part of the city. Just take note they like everyone to cover up to be respectful which is completely understandable & they supply ladies with a wrap or scarf to cover up if required.

Had an onsite guide for the museum. Very interesting history concerning the family that ruled Montenegro for a couple hundred years and how they were related to the other royal families of Europe and Russia. There are also museums dedicated to art, ethnographic and archaeological that would be worth visiting.

This river feeds into skadar lake. It is great for a boat trip and a nice temperature for swimming. There is a lot of wildlife here and many locals fish here for fresh water catches.

We visited on a Friday evening in late May. The weather had not been wonderful (rainy off and on) so I think our views would have been even better on a totally clear day, but it was clear enough that we were able to enjoy spectacular views over both the sea and the interior of Montenegro.

Note that this observation deck is only accessible via the Njegos Mausoleum, we walked through the mausoleum and then out a gate that led to the path to the circular observation deck. It is still very unclear to me what hours the Mausoleum is actually open, I saw closing times of both 5:00 and 7:30 listed in various places on the internet. We arrived, after some delays, at 5:30, and were let in, but I'm not sure whether they were still open or whether this was a courtesy to us.

We were very happy to be able to visit, and the views were breathtaking. I really enjoyed being able to see the panorama of Montenegro spread below us.

    An absolutely amazing experience!
The guide Adrian made sure he explained all the history and process of wine making at Markovic Winery & Estate, in a way we (that don't understand much of the science involved) could understand.
He showed us around and made us feel very welcome - then we tried the wine and it was phenomenal!
Would definitely advise anyone who has the time to go and have this wonderful experience!

Not very exciting, I enjoyed more the second part (ground floor) with all the dresses and story about the Kingdom times of Montenegro. The descriptions could have more info. Also impressive is the relief map of Montenegro that you can pay for and see separately from the museum.

Interesting national museum. We were there during the time of the protests and Covid-19, so we were the only 2 persons in the museum. It has a fair size and gives a good overview of their history. Worthwhile a visit. Entrance fee 3 Euro per person.

King Nikola I Petrovic and Queen Milena are buried in this tiny church. In addition to their tombs, beautiful Orthodox icons can also be seen here. The young man who was guarding here gave me some interesting information about this place. For example I learned that due to lack of space, the royal couple is not buried directly under the tombs, but somewhat to the side. Entry is free.
