In addition to its role as a venue for Cinemalaya and other events, the Cultural Center of the Philippines also serves as an excellent location for jogging.

The monument honours national hero and patriot, José Rizal whose remains are entombed in the granite base. The statue of the patriot stands atop an obelisk mounted on the base. The Philippine Marine Corps provide a continuous honour guard at the monument.

The Coconut Palace is a government building located in the Cultural Centre of the Philippines Complex. it was commissioned in 1978 by former First Lady Imelda Marcos as a government guest house and offered to Pope John Paul II during his visit to the Philippines in 1981 but he refused to stay there because it was deemed too opulent given the level of poverty in the country. In February 2011 it was officially handed over to Vice President Jejomar Binay upon the signing of a lease contract with the Government Service Insurance System. We had a quick glimpse of the building from the roadside but we were unable to get any closer.

Our guide was almost tearful when he explained that the building had been gutted by fire some six months earlier in May 2023. Apparently, the neoclassical structure is all that remains and is scheduled to be restored to its former grandeur for heritage purposes. The building dates to 1920 when the foundations were laid out and opened to the public in 1928. It was damaged during WW11 and rebuilt in 1946, retaining most of the original design features. Impressive facade with the Ionic type pillars.

This is located across the busy road in front of Rizal Park and is close to the "Kilometre Zero" marker, the point from which all distances from Manila are measured. The clock is three faced and mounted on a stone pillar.

It is a small park within the boundaries of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas in Malate Manila built in 1584 during the Colonization of Spain. It is a triangular fortification that serves as a protection and a rear guard of the place. The Spanish used it as a gun powder depot, transformed into a garrison by the British when the British invaded Manila in 1762, fell into the Americans in 1898 and eventually into Japanese control in WW2. It was restored in 1972 and is now a beautiful little park enclosed within the confines of the Central Bank of the Philippines.
