We spent a quiet afternoon on this beautiful island. We relaxed on the beach. Played in the water. And explored the island. This was a very fun and relaxing day after 3 dives in the morning. Glad we got the chance to go there and experience tis place.

Still the best; dove with peter's Dive Resort which made the experience tremendously good! Their excellent local dive masters find everything that is worth looking at. Highly reccomned Padre Burgos and Peter's Dive Resort for keen divers and snorkelers.

Dropped by one late afternoon during our stay in Ormoc. Since there were no other visitors when we arrived the place was super quiet, the water in the lake was so still it looked like glass. Fog starts to embrace the mountains around the lake in the afternoon giving you a coo, serene feeling.

    Untouched and beautiful! Unspoiled!

Boat trips from Naval might change from time to time, so be sure to check day before you go to Marapipi. From Marapipi, we rented a boat for P300/4 persons, twas a nice ride. We paid P100 for the entrance fee at Sambawan Island.

Overall, the beauty is very overwhelming.

I only traveled here to hire a trike to take me around the island to see the sights that interested me. Basically only 2 accom. options being Evershore or Dak Dak Beach Resort. I stayed at Evershore as it was a short walk from the port but if I was traveling with my partner I would stay at Dak Dak.
Evershore building is certainly showing its age. I contacted via fb to enquire about room availability as no information is provided on their fb page. I was advised and subsequently booked an aircon room with no TV. I booked over 4 months in advance. I had to lodge a 50% deposit to secure the booking but I paid the full amount for 2 nights. Turns out there are different room configurations to choose from. As I understand, all/most rooms now have TV but they were still waiting on having the signal/connection sorted out when I stayed. Service is indifferent.
Overall, Evershore served its purpose for me. I don't have high expectations when I stay at places on islands as they all have their logistical challenges.

I recommend coming here because it’s super relaxing and fun at the same time. The boaters were friendly and the boats itself gave a cool vibe to the trip. You have many options like snorkeling, walking the beach, swimming, and having a picnic too! There’s one island that has a snack stand with fish balls too.

Beautiful gem on the Southern tip of Leyte. Cool drinks, good food, friendly staff and honest owners. We found this place and couldn't be happier. The scrambled chicken was to die for!! Worth the drive and can't wait to go back!!

I can say we are lucky enough to have the island with less tourist around. We have explored and appreciated the whole Island for at least a 20-minute walk. It also has a marine sanctuary at the back part. I really hope the local government would maintain and find ways to preserve the Island’s Beauty.

We were curious about the red beach and thought maybe the sand is red, but it has deeper meaning along with the history... You will find Gen. DouGlas MacArthur and his men. Its quite a walk from the highway going there....

One of the best places I have ever been. From the moment I set foot on the barangay until I departed. The locals are very much hospitable, especially the heads of the guide organization (the CALEGUID). They treated me as a part of their family. During my hike, my guide which is a bit younger than me, is very much approachable and well-trained, thanks to their continuous training. I summitted the mountain, Alto Peak, and back to the barangay in just a day. The trail is narrow, different from the mountains I have been and the place is full of different flora and fauna which can only be seen in the area. The Lake Janagdan is a true beauty to behold, I stayed there for 2 hours while catching fish 😂. Their are also falls, the Tres Aguas, which I really enjoyed after the hike. There are others sites to visit but I wasn't able to because of time constraint. Someday I'll pay a visit to the place again.

The beach is great with its white sands and wonderful views.. although some of the parts of the shores are rocky and dont have smooth sand... its also a nice place to do snorkeling you see school of small fishes on the area..

The Veteran’s Park .... is also known as Centennial Park

The Veteran’s monument was constructed in early 1990’ s , in honor of the Filipino soldiers who fought for the liberation of Leyte and the Philippines 🇵🇭

The Centennial Marker , behind - still in the same park , was erected in 1998 to commemorate the 100th year of Philippine’s 🇵🇭 independence

This park & monuments , are located in Ormoc City , next to the Bayfront ... walking distance from Ormoc Ferry Terminal & main City Centre

Nearby are over a few different types of restaurants ... mostly Filipino BBQ

Even thou when I visited the park ( 5 times over a few months ) the park was a little under maintained

The local say ... the park is a nice place to watch the sunset 🌞

Visited this little beach resort with wife and extended family.
For 1500 peso' were able to hire a shaded concrete picnic style table area for the whole day. we had about 20 or so in our group and I can honestly say you could throw half that again under this and still have room to move. A very western style toilet and shower are included for the sole use of those who rent it.. Luckily we got there early as there is only one ( first in - first served)
There are other tables available located along the small beach front should you miss out on the big one.. There is a small cafeteria that serves most meals that would find in places like this.. The only fault I encountered with it was when I wanted to have some fries with beer, they came to me as if the had been cooked 3days earlier and reheated.. They had No taste and was as rubbery as an old boot.. But apart from that it was a perfect day.. They also have over night cottages for around 1000 peso' .. They include air on and tv.. Did not stay so can not comment on quality..

I would recommend this little resort for those who are travelling through and just want a swim and a break. And also for those who wish to take there family there for a days fun swimming and just relaxing..

We went to Leyte in August of 2019, unfortunately a gale warning was issued during the weekend when we planed to go island hopping. We ended up going around Ormoc and Baybay, one of our first stops was the Hindang Caves, famous for their wild monkeys we were only able to see one large male and one female with a baby, maybe we should have brought some bananas from the store near the registration hut. Never the less it was a great experience specially inside the cave where hundreds of bats were flying around, watch out though you might get hit with their droppings.
