He was a champion of the people and campaigned against the social injustice of the Marcos regime marital laws, His widow, Cory, was elected President in 1986 and oversaw the redrafting of the Constitution, limiting the Presidential powers, reestablishing Congress and removing the Marcos dictator structure.
