Superb from start to finish - picked up on time from hotel , taken to mangrove park to meet our guide , Kim . Kim was lovely , very enthusiastic , knowledgable and helpful . 12 on the boat , visited bat cave , fish farm , mangroves - saw snake , crabs , monkeys , kites and sea eagles , beach for a swim , leisurely lunch at the fish farm before returning to our hotel . A great trip , great experience , learnt a lot, great value .
Very interesting - visited bat cave, eagle feeding area, beach, fish farm and lunch ... .
Since this is an UNESCO site where many tourists will visit, the fish farm MUST do major repairs to the washrooms- there is NO water at the broken sink, toilets cannot be flushed.
This suggests that the restaurant's hygiene is suspect.
It was a great experience with Avante Cruises. We saw a nice sunset on the ocean and really loved it. Thank you very much Avante team. Highly recommended!
Azri is a very informative and knowledgeable guide. He took us into the mangroves, which was fun and educational. We met some great people from interesting backgrounds. The kayaking is fun but be prepared to put some effort in, to gain your best experience. I left some belongings behind and he got them back to me, with no issues. A challenging but rewarding experience and I would highly recommend this mangrove trip
We had an amazing mangrove kayak tour with Sham! We learnt so much about the mangrove and animals living in the habitat – Sham was a fantastic guide! The lunch was simple but very tasty. Would highly recommend!
20 September 2022. The trip started from Teluk Baru Jetty. On our boat were 13 people including the boat driver. All Malaysians except 2 Australian teachers from Melbourne.
Boat departed jetty enroute to Pulau Dayang Bunting (Pregnant Maid Island). From the jetty, it was a 10-minute walk to the lake for water-based sports activities and swimming. Entrance fee applied. We were there for 1 hour to kayak and swim.
From there, the boat was taken to Pulau Singa Besar (Big Lion Island) to watch eagle feeding. Boat driver tossed a bucket of chicken skins into the water and the eagles went on a feeding frenzy diving upon the chicken skins floating on the water.
The boat then proceeded to Pulau Beras Basah (Wet Rice Island) where we spent 1 hour swimming in the sea.
We took the Southern Island Geopark tour, and it was fantastic. Our guide, Masyi, was very knowledgeable and helpful throughout the tour. Highly recommend Junglewalla's tours.
