- Thomas GAmsterdam, The Netherlands1,873 contributionsAnkarana national park is my favorite park in the North and a visit is absolutely advisable. The eye-catcher is the impressive Tsingy which is a treat for the eye and you cannot miss when visiting Ankarana. There are some hanging bridges, which are very easy to walk. The hike on the Tsingy can be a bit more difficult. You can also find a bat cave, which is very cool to see the many species of bat, spiders and millipedes.
In the forest you can find lemurs species and the ones we saw where the cute crowned lemur, the Ankarana sportive lemur and the Northern sportive lemur. There are also Sanford's brown lemurs, but I did not find them There are also many birds to spot. I would recommend staying in Ankarana Soa lodge, which is very close to the entrance of the park and where the people are very friendly and invited us for a game of petanque. Overall Ankarana is an amazing national park with great natural phenomenons and lemurs.Written February 21, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Thomas GAmsterdam, The Netherlands1,873 contributionsThe Emerald Sea is a beautiful colored sea close to Diego Suarez. Most trips are around 25€ and you will go to the sea by boat, stop at an island and make a trip for snorkeling. Lunch is included and was very tasty and the views of the sea are an absolute treasure. This is a great day trip from Diego Suarez or Ramena.Written February 22, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sacha🇲🇬Antananarivo, Madagascar38 contributionsIt took us 1h10mins to climb our way up. There are 3 resting points. If you want to enjoy the best of the hike, it is best to arrive on top while the sun is setting down. Watching the sunset from there is absolutely magical. And climbing after 3pm is better with the December heat in Antsiranana. Bring water a stick to help you go back down, there are some fairly steep slopes.Written December 9, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Corrado RVedano al Lambro, Italy1,207 contributionsRamena is the departing point for trips to the Emerald Sea or the 3 Bays, but also deserves a stop.
The beach is wide and offers several great photo spots (including the typical boats); there are also several nice gargottes offering fresh fish at low price and also T-shirst and souvenirs.
For a nice swim, go to the beach side opposite the bays, where the water becomes cleaner and it is also much more quiet.Written August 19, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Not for the unfit. The scenery along the road is interesting, the summit is spectacular. A must see if you're visiting the area.Written October 19, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Christian RAntsirabe, Madagascar45 contributionsThis area is a must-do if you have longer time for Northern part of Madagascar. We spent two whole days on the island, that was magic and full of activities.
You could both land and marine activities. Marine life, wildlife lovers, landscape lovers, this place is for you.
If you don't like snake, it's better you don't spend a night here.Written February 8, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. There is a statue there and a nice view.Written September 5, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
