- Jimmy OngKuala Lumpur, Malaysia846 contributionsVery interesting museum. There are 2 shows. First show is drum show and second is playing a 3 strums local guitar. You can also see locals performing art craft here. Really interesting. We had lunch here opposite the museum which is good.Written February 26, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ScambusterSZSydney, Australia1,842 contributionsThis site is only 15minutes drive from the Railway/ downtown.
The museum is very well done and then you walk to the ‘village’ huts etc outside in about 5-10 minutes.
It’s also very close to the Modern Art Museum so you knock over both but allow 3-4 hours to do both.Written March 30, 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Each lantern was gigantic, and it took around 20 people to carry it.Written September 23, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MarkKwokVancouver140 contributionsThe museum is modern with a good collection of art by Yoshitomo Nara, and huge backdrops of the ballet Aleko by Chagall.
Aomori-ken (Aomori Dog) is situated outside the museum building. Visitors can see it from inside the museum through the observation window, or take a path to see it up close. There is no fee to take the path so visitors can just come and see Aomori-ken if they wish to save a few bucks.
There is also a nice coffee shop inside the museum.
If coming from Aomori station, take the bus at bay no.6. Do check the bus schedule as the buses are hourly. I happened to miss the bus by a minute and ended up taking a cab (some 1,300 - 1,500 yen).Written August 26, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. At the ticket booth, we were told of the strong wind but we went ahead with all others.
After we arrived the tip with the ropeway, the wind was too strong for the us to stroll outside. I couldn't even stand properly, but a quick glimpse ,it was a 'wow' factor.
Nevertheless, the snowscenery on the way in the ropeway was really eye opening. We were very packed on the way up and down. By the way, due to the wind, we have to leave early. They announced the last car down.
We took the bus at Aomori Station. The bus stop is just outside the tour office. Stand 11.Written March 3, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. This port was heavily used before Shinkansen between Honshu and Hokkaido was built. - Travelove5811,338 contributionsA single floor warehouse type building, comprising a retail mix of souvenirs, dry food like chips , ice cream & cafes. Not very big though but a good place to get Aomori specialities like Apple chips. Nice location near the sea with good views of mountains. The surroundings were snowed-covered, which gives a nice atmosphere. Aomori is well known for its apples. Try the apple chips- it's very different, very nice although a little expensive.Written February 16, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. You have to buy the vouchers yourself and get bowls or rice prior to select the seafood items from the stalls. - Paul AMaldon, UK453 contributionsThis is long bridge that you can first view from the side and then walk across taking in the sites and scenery. You know when you have got to the centre because there is a mark on the pathway telling you how high you are. I leave that to you to find out, but it is high.Written September 15, 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
