Very interesting museum. There are 2 shows. First show is drum show and second is playing a 3 strums local guitar. You can also see locals performing art craft here. Really interesting. We had lunch here opposite the museum which is good.

This site is only 15minutes drive from the Railway/ downtown.

The museum is very well done and then you walk to the ‘village’ huts etc outside in about 5-10 minutes.

It’s also very close to the Modern Art Museum so you knock over both but allow 3-4 hours to do both.

Amazing summer event to attend. It’s crowded but full of energy. Each lantern was gigantic, and it took around 20 people to carry it.

The museum is modern with a good collection of art by Yoshitomo Nara, and huge backdrops of the ballet Aleko by Chagall.

Aomori-ken (Aomori Dog) is situated outside the museum building. Visitors can see it from inside the museum through the observation window, or take a path to see it up close. There is no fee to take the path so visitors can just come and see Aomori-ken if they wish to save a few bucks.

There is also a nice coffee shop inside the museum.

If coming from Aomori station, take the bus at bay no.6. Do check the bus schedule as the buses are hourly. I happened to miss the bus by a minute and ended up taking a cab (some 1,300 - 1,500 yen).

It was all snow at the mountain top. Yesterday was snowing. At the ticket booth, we were told of the strong wind but we went ahead with all others.
After we arrived the tip with the ropeway, the wind was too strong for the us to stroll outside. I couldn't even stand properly, but a quick glimpse ,it was a 'wow' factor.
Nevertheless, the snowscenery on the way in the ropeway was really eye opening. We were very packed on the way up and down. By the way, due to the wind, we have to leave early. They announced the last car down.
We took the bus at Aomori Station. The bus stop is just outside the tour office. Stand 11.

Historical piece of structure located right beside the A-factory souvenir store. This port was heavily used before Shinkansen between Honshu and Hokkaido was built. From 1908 to 1988, Hakkoda Maru, which carried many passengers and cargo as a ferry connecting Aomori and Hakodate, was moored and preserved as a monument to Aomori, the "sea city" after the abolition of the Seikan connecting ship, was moored and preserved as a monument at the time of service. Real Ship Hakkoda Maru." Now it has become a valuable spot to make you feel the history, and its bright yellow hull is familiar to many citizens.

A single floor warehouse type building, comprising a retail mix of souvenirs, dry food like chips , ice cream & cafes. Not very big though but a good place to get Aomori specialities like Apple chips. Nice location near the sea with good views of mountains. The surroundings were snowed-covered, which gives a nice atmosphere. Aomori is well known for its apples. Try the apple chips- it's very different, very nice although a little expensive.

Just visited this building to get some souvenirs. It was very quiet and I ended up buying stuff in and close to the station!
You could hear "Nebuta festival's music" in the building which was great!

Aomori Gyosai Cener Honten is an indoor market where there are many stalls selling seafood. You have to buy the vouchers yourself and get bowls or rice prior to select the seafood items from the stalls. It is quite interesting to DIY for lunch here.

This is long bridge that you can first view from the side and then walk across taking in the sites and scenery. You know when you have got to the centre because there is a mark on the pathway telling you how high you are. I leave that to you to find out, but it is high.
