What travelers are saying
- Darren LQueenstown, MD817 contributionsOf course it would be amazing if the castle was still standing, but still an amazing place to visit. There are 2 ways to get up to the castle and ticket booth. The first required some pretty serious stairs. The second was a ramp that winds its way up - though still not super easy.
They’ve compensated for the castle by building areas to learn about and actually watch the reconstruction.
There are numerous viewpoints in almost every direction.Written March 11, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It was so authentic, we enjoyed very much the shops and the atmosphere of the whole area.Written March 13, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Payangan 1969Brisbane, Australia2,215 contributionsI had a wonderful time walking through the museum. I was especially happy to see their exhibits of the past. Also they have a wonderful shop which for me has the best collection of post cards.

It's fun walking down from one end to the other especially on a Sunday when they blocked off traffic and making this into a pedestrians only area. Do try the snacks along the street. Absolutely enjoyed the hot cheese cake on a cold day. We did not do too much shopping other than a few boxes of cookies on this 4th trip to Naha.Written February 26, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - OZS_ATWBudapest, Hungary3,261 contributionsNaminoue-gu Shrine is a must to visit. Keep it mind that they are very strict with the opening hours, get there at least 45 minutes before they close.Written March 11, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Happy_Trav_EllerAdelaide, Australia296 contributionsCute gardens, small entry fee, paid parking near by, you can even walk under the waterfall. Pretty and quiet, very easy to walk around, not very large gardens in Naha, Couple of vending machines dispensing drinks at the entrance if you build up a thirst, worth a visit.Written May 10, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - TravelingFoodieMiami, FL1,122 contributionsNothing special yet it was good to walk this peaceful old narrow street and chat with a couple of locals. A stop at Sui Dun Chi restaurant at the bottom is well worth it.Written April 29, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Malcolm S.Singapore, Singapore587 contributionsNot as big as Makishi public market and with only one or two restaurants to dine in, Tomari market offer better value in terms of price and less hard selling. Take note that if you plan to buy from the various shops do note that the wasabi and soya sauce may be limited. There are some tables at the entrance where you can stand to eat. Nothing too spectacular here other than better priced fish and this place is quite a distance away from the main streets.Written March 7, 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - KC@travel100 contributionsThe pottery street is within walking distance from Kokusai street but it is a totally different atmosphere. I love the tranquility and peacefulness of this place. I enjoyed taking a stroll there with the humble design and historical pottery shophouses along street. It would be perfect if there is outdoor cafe for me to indulge myself in a cup of hot latte!!Written December 31, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - LUVBALIBEACHSingapore842 contributionsInteresting to visit a local mall. Many Japanese clothing brands, a big supermarket, beauty products stores, etc.
We spend about 1.5 hours here. Bought some Japanese Clothings. There were good discounts. Dont think made in Japan though.
Bought beauty products as well. So overall a good mall to browse japanese fashion.
There was a bag, wallet concept store selling coach, anna sui, katespade, tsumori chisato wallets but i find very expensive. Example, a katespade walket costs S$400?
In another shop known as concept style, it sells shoes, clothings, belts, bags, etc but of lower quality. The slippers were made in thailand. So again, do not carry home these items if you are visiting chachuchak any time soon.
When in Japan, buy Japanese items. This is our shopping guide 101.
As this was our last evening to shop, we just buy whatever we need ala minute.
Still, a good experience to look into local products and lifestyle.Written October 24, 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
