The 5th avenue of tokyo with many luxury stores and brands. Even if you’re not into overpriced stuff, there are many restsurants and cafes, and malls. Plus you can just take a walk and people watch

A huge train station with a 100 year history. Serving JR, Metro and Shinkansen lines, we took the Shinkansen to Odawara, Lake Ashi. Like a city in itself, lots of shopping malls, restaurants around it

A good place to seek some tranquility situated close to high rise flats. Spend time wandering around the grounds which have been well kept.

This was the quick introductory version for the first time Kabuki viewer. It is advisable to book your seats on-line. You can go for the whole show which can spread out over a few hours or see the optional one act which we did. We booked the reserved seats and got to experience this most interesting musical and dance theater. Even though one may not understand the language, the short description on the program was enough guidance to follow along. I would definitely go again for the entire show after learning more about the art.

We visited Japan in early spring hoping to see the cherry blossoms bloom. Unfortunately cold weather in Feb/early March meant that only a few trees were in flower. The Imperial Palace gardens would be amazing with blooming cherry trees. The gardens unfortunately were a bit drab - hues of browns and greens but the history of the Palace area was interesting. Definitely worth going. The visit is free and could be done in less than an hour. Closed Mondays and Fridays - a trap we were caught by!

Tsukiji Outer Market is a bustling culinary haven. Be prepared for crowds; long lines are the norm at almost every eatery. But the wait is worth it. Savoring the freshest sushi and seafood delights here is a must-do experience in Tokyo. Arrive early or with patience, and you'll be rewarded with a delectable seafood feast.

Tsukiji Hongwanji is just 2-minute walk from the nearest Tsukiji Station Metro Line, and 5 mins from our stay Hotel at Keihan Grande. From far one can see the unique architecture of the main Hall. The night view with lighting is outstanding among the neighbourhood.
The exterior really looks different from most temples we have visited (Kyoto, Kobe, Osaka, Nagoya. Hiroshima... wherever). Taking on a unique architectural (roofing). Some TAs said cue was from South Asian temples, maybe.
It is fleet of wide steps to the Hondo, impressive indeed. Stepped in and it is very Japanese again..the grand statue of Amida Buddha is at the central.

In the morning ray of sunlight shines through the large panels of stained-glass window above the entrance of the main hall giving the area a beautiful hue. Still not many worshippers around as it was only about 9.30am.
I made a quiet prayer for a safe trip and we left the way we came.
On the right side is the Tea Lounge and the pamphlets started that the stone walls & some structures of the Temple were designated as National Important Cultural Properties.
And to mention that there is a famous Café at the temple premise, just at the side of the main entrance Tsumugi. Long q early morning waiting ..

We explored the area. Apparently the market was closed on the day we visited. However, there was still a vibrant feel and it was quite busy. Interesting looking at all the different food stalls and seeing all the fish products sold. Go and have a wander around.

    Hibiya Park
Hibiya Park is a Park managed and opened by capital in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, which opened in 1903.
In the park, there are large tennis courts, flowers beds that managed seasonal flowers, a large fountain, and Matsumotoro, a famous Western Restaurant, even though it is located in the center of the big city of Tokyo. The surrounding area is a business disfrict, and it is a place of relaxation for many business people visit to take a walk around the wild birds and trees that change with the seasons.

Grander and better than Matsuya next door. More variety and more things to see and buy. Also better ambience and quality. All the typical departments are here, and more

Beautiful building and not a bad walk from Tokyo Station. We specifically appreciated it because we were hiding from the rain and it has a number of shops inside. It was being set up for a big expo, and I'm sure it would be a great expo building. As a tourist attraction I would only do a quick stop to look at the impressive architecture, maybe grab a quick coffee and go, if it's on your way.

We were taken to the food hall by our guide during our day exploring Tokyo. It's an amazing place, full of all sorts of beautifull, appetising food. A must-see!

Upmarket boutiques and designer brands with lovely eateries. Located in front of Tokyo station. I would say worth a stop if in the area but don't make a special trip. Lovely building. Clean and well looked after but lacks soul post C-19.
