I stumbled upon this tour. It was amazing, I learnt a lot about Japanese culture and history. Our guide treated us with such warmth showing us how to act in the temples.

When you need to visit the owl cafe or the meerkat and hedgehog cafe - stop in here to get discounted tickets and they will make the reservations for you and direct you to the cafes. The people were very nice and friendly, English was well spoken.

The tour guide Kenji-san is very professional.
    The arrangement is very good.
However, the lunch set can be better.

This centre is a multi-lingual one and although only English and French was available on the day, with your smart phones, this will be a go to place to find that little events and joys of Tokyo. It has a great little souvenir outlet and there are always displays of Japanese culture. On my visit it was cruise shipping from the 1920s, tin toys etc. and freeeee!

Shinjuku station is one of the busiest train stations with excellent connectivity of trains and also close to major shopping and food areas nearby. The JR East service centre is quite crowded , especially with foreign tourists but handled courteously and efficiently by the JR staff , who converse well in English too.
Station is huge with many different entrances and gates but with prominent multingual signboards allover to help the commuters.

It is quite large and has a large selection of items.
There is also a cafe inside the store where you can enjoy light meals. There was a wide selection of dried noodles and dried foods.

The station instruction from 東京一番街 to Marunouchi Line was very unclear. We followed the arrows to get into the gate then being told that we got charged because we got in to the JR gate. However, the arrow on the entrance just showing Marunouchi line was towards that direction and there wasn’t any information saying that we need to be charged until we seek help in the JR information centre. Staffs are being impolite and impatient without explaining any reason but just charged our card. When I was asking if there is any alternative route to get to the Marunouchi line without charging us, the staff just ignored us and refused to explain. As a tourist I think it’s not fair to be charged when I follow the arrows to get into the gate, on the other hand, it is not acceptable that I don’t get any help from the service centre by advising the correct routing to prevent the extra charge for the journey.

This is one of the best tourist information centres that we have experienced across Japan. It's big, very lots of information in various languages. The staff are very friendly & helpful. It's located just across the other side of JR Shinjuku station entrance.

We specifically visited this station to see personally the famous statue of Hachiko. This station is also a very busy station. Just make sure that when you get off the platform, ask for or look for indications that will lead you to Hachiko's statue. There's specific guide which notes "Hachiko's Exit" which is quite a bit of a walk but worth it and this is only applicable to those who fancy seeing the statue :-). You will witness as well the busy street crossing - similar to GInza Street. You will find also high end shops here in Shibuya, Sad that we did not get the chance to see this area at night.

Really nice multilingual staff and are super helpful. You can even get a number of nice quality postcards for free here that have stunning pictures of Japan on them. And for just a few pocket change they will send the postcard off for you internationally (if you'd like).

When starting our trip in Japan, we were not sure how to navigate around the subway and didn’t have many maps. The staff showed us how to navigate around with the maps and gave us a guide maps for the JR and private railways respectively. They helped us prepare for our trip by providing a portable router in case we get lost and need to use Google Maps. It allowed us to be able to experience a lot around Japan and boost the enjoyment from the trip ten-fold.
