An amazing experience. At one point I had 4 owls on me. Truly a once in a lifetime experience. Also, great for people who are easily over stimulated. The quite environment for the owls was great for my son with ASD.

Excellent, Superb, Brilliant, sums up this wonderful experience on 14 March. As someone who is interested in armour and has seen many samurai armours in museums it was very interesting to feel the weight and flexibility of these amazing metal replicas of samurai armour. Thank you so much to Takemura and his photographer for such a professional and interesting experience. This has been one of the highlights of my trip to Tokyo. Can 100% recommend.

Interesting place to visit spent anout one hour there. Staff very enthusiastic in showing you how to get hands on with some old style toys. Worth a visit if you enjoy memories of your childhood or still just a big kid.

Excellent hands on experience. Our host spoke English and taught us the history of ninjas whilst letting us use weapons (safely!)
Our group was 4 so not much waiting to try at things.
My teenage son came out really happy, originally thinking it would be a boring type of museum.
They’ve created a great experience in what must be a small space. Well done

A little hard to find - had to ask directions and go around the back of the building to get elevator to 4th floor. Once there, had a soft drink and lounged in the ante-room for about 15 minutes, and then the next 45 minutes were spent in the owl room, getting to pet them and also have them perch on our arms. Very pleasant and relaxing!

My daughter made reservations ahead because it is popular and you only get an hour. The place is clean and they have a variety of hedgehogs in medium plastic see through cages (as well as a few in too small cages underneath). There are also mice. You are given special gloves and instructions on how to feed and handle the hedgehogs. My family was very careful to follow the instructions and be gentle with the animals. My kids got to feed them pellets and worms which the hedgehogs seemed to enjoy. They are adorable. However I would not recommend bringing small or wild kids here. While we were there an Australian family with several boys permitted them to completely disregard every rule and run around with the poor animals. One boy dropped a hedgehog on its head! I was horrified. These are nocturnal animals and I’m sure being the center of attention during the day is stressful enough without being harassed by people who can’t follow simple instructions.

I made advance reservation for the visit. We visited on a weekday afternoon and it was busy. We were promptly taken to our seats and the staff showed us how to hold the hedgehog. The kids were apprehensive at first but after some assurance they thoroughly enjoyed the experience. There are also hamsters and meerkat available and the kids spent some time with the hamsters. For us, 1 hour is just enough time to enjoy the experience and also to enjoy the 2 drinks included with the fees. This is a must visit for a unique experience.

Any suggestions for a similar service with the same quality? It seems they are closed temporarily.

Great fun! The physical location shut down due to COVID, however the team now sells walking tour puzzle books online, and this was honestly the best way we could've seen Asakusa. We got to go at our own pace (while having fun), and it took us through areas we would have never thought to explore ourselves. Will definitely be grabbing the other books when we do the other areas!

Please see photos for examples of what the puzzle-solving aspect looks like (very minor spoilers for what some of the locations are, but no solutions visible).

A note for international visitors: they only ship to Japan, so I recommend ordering your book about a week out and getting it shipped to your hotel.

I have visited this shop for 4 times! Usually, I chose basic kimono with makeup and outdoor plan. All of their staff are kindly, friendly, and professional. Tourist wearing kimono is a great way to experience Japanese culture and this shop is a great choice. They can speak English, so I can communicate with them.

Wow, they did such a great job! This was my favorite activity of our family vacation to Japan, and we got some amazing family photos. The ladies are thoroughly professional with a great attention to detail. The studio is small and intimate, and I felt like we were in good hands the entire time. The ladies doing the hair and make-up were a lot of fun, and even allowed my daughter to do an alternate "Last Airbender" style make up for her Lolita-Maiko mash-up kimono, much to their somewhat confusion. LOL

It was not cheap, to do all 6 of us and get all the digi photos, but definitely worth it.

They seem to do a lot of kimono rental with makeup for folks to go out and take their own pictures. One lady came back from one of these "selfie sessions" looking gorgeous. The make up ladies will help you wash all the make up off and comb your hair back out after being up in the wig. They even touched up my eye makeup, after I'd washed everything else off, when I told them I wanted to keep that part on for our food tour later that night.

This is not a cafe. It’s basically a small apartment that a bunch of cats live in. The lady who rubs it is lovely and speaks good English. When we visited we got there right at 11am when it opened and couldn’t get up to the apartment (6th floor)... thought the lift wasn’t working but she was just running a little late (just wait, she’ll turn the lift access on soon). Some of the cats are hers. Some are rescue cats that are available for adoption. Some of the cats are quite friendly. Some are a bit more reserved and will just sleep nearby (but to be fair, that is what normal cats do). You can buy treats to feed them if u want a few more to come to you (and then u might have competition for your attention). You can also buy drinks and snacks for yourself, but like I said, it’s really not a cafe. But, I feel like it’s a better place to visit than some of the other animal cafes because she’s really not exploiting the animals, just trying to rescue as many as she can, so your money will go to a good cause!
