We walked right in, there was no need to reserve. Staff didn’t speak any English but have English ‘menus’ on hand to explain pricing so getting a room was easy. Operating the Karaoke machine was a little more complex, luckily the waitress bought our drinks (one drink per person was mandatory) as was able to demonstrate how to use the bespoke tablet. We booked 30 mins and this flew by so we stayed for another hour. I think the pricing is not linear as when we left the bill was more than anticipated. Still, lots of laughs and our daughters had a blast, even finding tunes by their contemporary rap idols.

Visited the bar with my wife on our honeymoon in Tokyo when we were looking for a karaoke place. The bar is not the tradional "book yourself a room and stay there with your group" but rather open for everyone present to participate.

Our experience was really good due to very friendly staff who wanted to discuss with us a lot and it was basically the only time during our stay in Tokyo when the locals wanted to connect with us. In the end they even ended up giving us a massive discount on the drinks and made us feel very welcome. Our intention was to go there for a second time during our stay but unfortunately we didn't find time for another visit. Strong recommendation for all western travellers nevertheless.

We ducked in out of the rain, and ended up staying for two hours! The private room cost about $15 for adults, half that for kids for the two hours. It smelled like smoke, but that was as expected in Japan. The iPad request interface had an English screen, was easy enough to navigate but we still had a couple complaints about managing the queue of songs. Selection was good. Other karaoke places have better amenities (costumes, lighting, raised stage) but this was just right for our group of nine. Would come back again, once our vocal chords recover.

I must admit I didnt know what to expect upon arrival. I get stage fright everytime K have to sing in front of people. I was pleasantly surprised to see that we got our own little private room! So the only person I had to sing in front of was hubby. We had a great time. Must do while in Tokyo

High on novelty value, the toast itself which really is one loaf, is so-so. Best advice is to go on an empty stomach to appreciate. The place has rest room facilities though.

Came here for a quick bite and the food was terrible.

I do love the privacy of the curtains especially if you were on a date it would be perfect.

But food and drink wise it's pretty bland

For tourists, Joysound only seems to offer an all you can drink program. For us this was fine, as the price was very decent for two hours of karaoke and drinks in Tokyo. The rooms are very nice and the system they use is perfect and contains tons and tons of English songs from Eminem and Dr Dre to Soundgarden and Pearl Jam to ABBA and The Eagles.

This was awesome! Very good and friendly service, the spoke just enough English to be able to explain how everything worked with selecting the language on the tablet and after that it's easy! You order drinks from the tablet and they bring them to your room and there are many, many English songs to choose from. We had an excellent time and paid not even 50 euros for 1,5 hour of karaoke in a private room and 6 highballs! It was one of the higlights of our stay in Akasaka. I'll spare you the photos ;-)

The food was very good and in general the ambience was chilled and classy. Each table has its own space separated by curtains. The bill was decent . However, like everywhere in Tokyo, it was hard to communicate to the waiter. We managed to get our food anyways and celebrate with style my birthday!
