What travelers are saying
- NellieHaifa, Israel5 contributionsA miracle of nature Flavius wrote in the first century and he was talking about the sea of Galilea, other names for the lake are Kineret after the ancient city of Kinorot on the northern shores of the lake, Iake of Getsmany, lake of Tiberias, I guesse there are other names for this beautifull place. It is 209 meter below sea level, very hot during summer, pleasant during winter. Once the only sweet watersource for Israel. Great to take your bike and circle around the lake that will take
youone day, only do not do that on hot summer days and be carefull because you ride your bike on a very crowded road. Even better to walk around the lake on the special walking path, that's where I made the pictures, but you need more then a day for that. No problem to stay overnight in the area.Written March 6, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We planned to take the longest one, but the rain and wind meanly spoiled our plan: they closed this route. But even so, we spent a lot of time walking along the rest of the routes. And spent a lot of strength to want even more than we went through. The park itself, although is interesting, but does not stand out for something special, but its, so to speak, edge... mountainous edge... This is a strip with an incredibly beautiful view on The Sea of Galilee and the surrounding it settlements. It is definitely worth to com here.
Entrance is not free, but you have a parking here inside. And a very small gift shop.
If it were not for the spoiled plans, I would give it 5, but because we could not see the interesting places of that route - 4.
P.S.: On the last Photo - there is a rather dangerous corner, right next to the precipice where you need to jump from top to bottom on stones. With normal conditions, it’s not scary, but there is wind there and it’s become dangerous. At this point, at least a small curb is needed. Located near the observation deck in the parking lot. A little north of it.Written April 15, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Our group of four, 2 sets of sisters, also toured the accommodations and would love to stay there. If you visit Tiberias, you should make time for Berenice Winery.Written October 5, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SilverOrlovBedford, Canada1,823 contributionsParking is unreasonably expensive, but there is a lane outside where you can park your car along the road. Another problem with this place is that the local gift shop does not accept credit cards. Cash only.
Otherwise, my wife and I enjoyed this small courtyard with a beautiful tree and a small pond with plump fish.
A bit of interesting history, but in general it makes sense to come here either if you were specifically looking for it, or as one of the points of interest of a long excursion.Written April 13, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The silence is special and even more when you look at the lake.
As usual the view on Kineret is beautiful and fulfilling.
The architecture is also very special and somehow inspiring.
It increases even more the serenity of this place, and makes it worth visiting, whichever faith you belong to.Written September 20, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The giant slides were the favorite in our group -- because they were fun to slide down, and also because they were the easiest pieces of equipment to climb up (they had handles).
Fun for all ages, because even if you are a clutz with no sense of balance, you get a great workout: each time you fall off the floating climbing obstacle course, you get to hoist yourself back onto the rafts.
The only downside is that during peak season it gets crowded, and then it gets trickier to balance because multiple people are walking around and jiggling the rafts.Written October 5, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. My 2nd time there, this July (2023), and the previous time in October 2021.
Not amazing but still worth your time: interesting, not tiring and therefore recommended.
While visiting the North I'd recommend giving half an hour or a maybe little bit more.
I've added some pictures as well to give you some feeling of the place
Btw, entrance fees are cheaper than in the others National Parks sites (14ils)Written August 2, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. A few of us had renewed their baptism as one of them is a minister. It was a sacred experience.
Along the river, there are plagues of Mark 1, 9-11 in different languages, There is also a souvenir store which asked for inflated price.Written March 8, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Was told I would have to create my own itinerary. Asked for help several times and was given NONE. Asked for suggestions and got no answer. Told I would have to arrange the boat ride and baptism on my own. Asked for information about the boat ride and baptism and was told they had no contact information whatsoever. If they do it as a group tour, I find it hard to believe they have no contact information. After spending two days researching, calling Israel several times and looking at the map and coming up with an itinerary, I sent it to them. They sent a normal itinerary in response. When we met the guide, we discussed it and was told it was not possible. Although almost everything was as listed in the group tour. When we got to the baptism site, the guide told us we didn’t have time to wait. We did it anyways, which he did not like at all. After this we cancelled our other private trip with them and scheduled with someone different. I didn’t realize we had another private trip scheduled with this company until it was too late to cancel. That one was extremely disappointing! - SilverOrlovBedford, Canada1,823 contributionsPay the cost of a simple coffee and can sit from opening to closing in a small park with picnic tables and 3 pools with temperatures of 30, 35 and 40 degrees Celsius.
My wife and I came here for just an hour to warm up and see another attraction during our vacation, but even so, we liked it. Here you can sit and relax without picnics and other activities... just ... relax.Written April 5, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The entry area was under some construction, I’m assuming for the return of more tourists and pilgrims since COVID restrictions have been reduced. I think the holy man deserves better.Written April 12, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Dan MaarekTel Aviv, Israel15,902 contributionsNot as big as many other National Parks such as Metzada or Beith Shean but definitely important and therefore worth your time.
And not only if you love history and Archeology.
I was there at sunset, as a closure in a day full of sites and natural reserves and it was the perfect ending.
I have attached some pictures to give you a feeling of the place.
It's on your way to Kiriat Shmona and the Northern Galilee, don't miss it.Written September 20, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
