This was the best day of my life!! If I could rate this higher I would. My guide was incredibly knowledgeable about all of the pandas as well as the showing a care for them as well, and an amazing photographer as well!! She is amazing and even gave suggestions on what to see in the city as well!! Absolutely fantastic would highly recommend that everyone wanting to see the pandas do this

We enjoyed the class very much and learned a lot of new information, even in details. We first went to a market and saw and tasted fruits and veggies we hadn‘t used before. Arriving at the kitchen, the chef first showed the preparation of the dishes step-by-step. Afterwards, we reproduced the cooking by ourselves, supported by both cooking teachers. We then tasted the dishes we had made and compared them to each other to better understand which details in preparation resulted in which tastes. I now feel much more informed about Sichuan kitchen and capable of reproducing the dishes we learned also at home. There was lots of possibility for hands-on-experience and we could also taste exotic food, as for example Chinese fermented duck eggs. Winter invested a lot of time to answer all our questions and cared for an easy-going and fun experience for us. He even took care of taking photos so we could focus on cooking. Thank you for the great time we had!

My partner and I did a half day cooking class here with translator and guide Lance. This was the perfect activity to end our trip to Chengdu. It was so fun to learn how to make some of our favorite Sichuan dishes. Lance also gave us some fun challenges to do while exploring the market and took great photos of us while we were cooking. It was so fun to learn more about Chengdu food culture!

We had a fantastic day with Lance. We visited the local market, learned all about Chinese spices and local Food. We made Sichuan springrolls and Dumplings. After some tea and snacks we started making buns. It was harder than expected but fun to learn. We highly recommend this trip and thank Lance for this special day in Chengdu!

We were here three years ago and forgot to leave a review. But this was one of the highlights of our visit to Chengdu!

Experience of a lifetime for me, even if I was just cleaning their enclosures and preparing their food. Although you cannot touch them, you do get much closer to these magnificient animals than the zoo experience. The information imparted on their care and efforts made to rehab them back into a wild habitat is truly inspiring.
The lunch was simple, yet very tasty. The tour guide will take pictures/videos of you during the panda care part of the day as you cannot take your own camera into their enclosures. At the end of the day, you do get swag including your certification certificate as a panda volunteer.
As it was winter school break, there were several children volunteers and efforts were made to have them in a different group than adults, which I appreciated.

This was such a fun little trip made much more convenient by my guide/driver. He helped with all the busy work such as buying tickets, guiding me to entrances, and finding convenient parking while also giving in-depth knowledge about the local history as well as food/shopping/tourist recommendations. He even gave me some insider tips on how best to visit a couple of other Sichuan tourist destinations when I mentioned my itinerary for the rest of the trip which were so helpful.
I highly recommend this trip if you're looking for a personal driver for the day that's a little more personal than the average tour package. I was able to hit all the spots I wanted to visit, take my time, not be rushed along, and still get back to Chengdu in time for dinner.

These attractions are must see while visiting Chengdu. Mark, our tour guide, picked up our party of 6 at our hotel and drove northeast to the Panda Base. The entrance to the Base felt a little like Disney, but inside the habitats impressed, giving the impression of a research base rather than a zoo. Not all habitats had pandas in them, but we were able to get some good photos of the ones that did. There is a lot of walking and it can get crowded, as the paths wind around different areas. Mark shared some great information about pandas, but overall, this visit felt a bit short as there is a panda museum and some other attractions (panda musical?) that may be interesting.
The drive to Leshan was a bit long, understandably since we booked during the national holiday. Lunch in Leshan was delicious and reasonably priced.
We elected to see the Giant Buddha by river boat, which was fortuitous as it seems the hiking option was closed for repairs. That being the case, plus it being Golden Week, the wait to get on a boat was very long. It was worth it, as the Giant Buddha is impressive and well preserved.
Thank you to Mark for being such a great tour guide. He was friendly and very knowledgeable about these attractions and the surrounding area. Mark also arranged Sichuan Opera tickets for us the following night, which is a blast and a must see while in Chengdu.
We feel that the Panda Base and Leshan/Giant Buddha may be better enjoyed separately, but given our travel constraints, we are grateful for this experience.

Lost Plate and the guides always do an amazing job on their food tours. This was my second one in Chengdu and I was excited to try all of the food again. Our guide was very knowledgeable about the area and the local history of the locations and food. Anytime friends or family visit, this is a go-to experience.

We booked with WestChinagGo a daily tour for "Panda Feeding+Dujiangyan Irrigation System". Everything was perfectly organized (thanks to Lily support) and our tour guide (Terry) was very helpful. He gave us a lot of recommendations to enjoy our time in Chengdu. His english is perfect! If you love panda the feeding experience is highly recommended, you will see one panda very close! even if for two minutes...
and the irrigation system is pretty unique in the world and the location is very nice. We went in summertime and even if it was very crowded, we love the experience.

This review of our October trip is a bit late but I would have to say one of my best experiences while visiting China. We were met at our hotel by Jay, who turned out to be a very informative and personable guide for the day. Not only did he share information about the center and the pandas, but we talked about life experiences in our countries, things of interest to both of us and how we as Americans are in love with the pandas. We enjoyed acting as panda keepers while the pandas watched us clean out their areas. Feeding them their snacks was such a treat as well as just watching them eat their bamboo and sit in their enclosures. We had a nice lunch and gained lots of information from a video about the research centers. Another highlight included seeing Red Pandas and some bears at the centers.
