During my visit to Beihai Silver Beach, the breeze off the ocean was light, the sunshine bright, and few people were around. The 26-kilometre waterfront beach is very crowded in the summer months but much fewer come in the winter months. The beach sand was fairly brown during my visit. I was told that under the summer sunlight the quartz sand takes on a silver colour. At about the mid-point of Silver Beach, there is a pier called the Immortal Bridge. Its name relates to a legend of a Japanese monk. Due to the relatively warm waters, swimmers are usually in the waters from April through November. Even on my January visit, there were a few sunbathers on the beach.

Great place to relax and enjoy - we had a full day trip to Weizhou Island and did like the cleanliness of the island, the vegetation and the well organized entire environment - when we came in the beginning of June, somehow limited tourists (still the ferry was fully booked) joined however in peak seasons it might get overrun

The colonial style building are kept very well that can go back hundred years.
Suggest to go before 10 o'clock in the morning which is not too hot for most of people and the street is very quite for people who want good picture taken or go after 6 o'clock at evening which the street is more vivid. It is good place for buying gift and try some local food. Buy the way, if you want buy some gifts, always give no more than 1/3 of giving price. people are nice and friendly in general.

I don't know if one can visit the museum, because it was closed when I walked past. There were no signs to give more information.
But it is a beautiful little gem

Nice beach and local food. Family and friends can spend whole day over there. If you want rent anything there, you should bargain a little bit.

I was staying a short distance from here and would take a walk along the beach at night to watch the fishermen bringing in their catches at night. Local ladies also are visible and do their beautiul "folk" type of dancing every night, weather permitting. There are park benches to relax. Many local couples and families come here nightly. It is very peaceful and relaxing.

On the street are food vendors serving typical local food that is very reasonably priced. Drinks are also available.

It's a beautiful temple way out of town. I took bus number 6 and paid 2 yuan each way.
The monks were friendly and treated me with utmost respect. I was allowed to take photos of all deities which is not always possible at temples like this.

We were there during the day, and the fountain wasn’t on! It may be an evening event!
The fountain is overlooking Silver Beach, and the fountain contains a gigantic Pearl, and is guarded by 7 naked women!

This was actually a lot better than we were expecting it to be. Very well laid out and a lot on display. We also enjoyed the 4D cinema next door.. Definitely worth a visit if you have the time.
