A calm and peaceful part of Antofagasta. A place för sitting down and just relax.
Not much to actually do here and that is great.

This place needs some repairs. Unfortunately it looks poor from outside. It could be a very good place to visit because is well located.

These 12 century runis have been very well preserved, they are situated in a beautifull green valey just 60 minimutes from Calama by road. An english map is provided and you can explore a large area of the ruins, an extensive irragtion system can still be seen arround the ruins. The irragation can also be seen along the valley road still providing water to the local farms.

Good to know that British actually came before the Spanish colonial to this place, especially Antofagasta. Although certainly colonialism has never been good but it's beneficial to see their legacy, at least the one left by the British in the land which was then conquered by the Spanish.

I enjoyed being inside the two train cars which turned out to be for Executive class.

We, I and two other female tourists, were also shown the locomotive by the tour guide and another vintage train car plus a maintenance car for rail alignment.

What an interesting and surprising experience as I didn't expect a warm welcome from them to enjoy the past glory of land transportation.
