It was exquisite. Would have preferred to stay longer to everyone. There is an endless list of things to do. Numerous lodging and dining options. Ideal location for experiencing a variety of things at once.

Good little museum, we visited one morning as part of a Dubai City tour we had booked. Quite small, but it provided an inside of how houses were in old Dubai in years gone by. We didn’t spend much time there but worth a visit if you’re passing.

The Gold Souk was a different place to visit. It too had spice like the spice souk and many stores for you to visit. They will haggle with you on prices and have many different items for you to chose from. It is very hot and a lot of walking so bring comfortable shoes and water. They do have places to buy water and other items if you forget. It is a very congested area so stay close to the people you are visiting with so you do not get lost. Our guide left us so it was not pleasurable.

Interesting historic district of Dubai dating back to the 1890s. Also known as the Al Fahidi Neighborhood. Several small museums and cafes in the district. Nearby is the Al Fahidi Fort and Dubai Museum and Dubai Creek where you can take an Abra across the river to explore the Old Souk. Al Seef along Dubai Creek is also nearby and worth exploring.

This museum is the first place I visited in Dubai. It's incredible. It gives me a full understanding of Dubai's culture and history, Ms. Xinyan Liu gave us a tour in the Perfume house. She is very professional, explained in details. We really enjoyed with her. Highly recommend this museum.

I have been to Dubai many times but never been to historic part of old Dubai. This time I made effort. Getting down from nearest metro station, I kept on walking towards Al Fahidi Historical neighbourhood. The place gave me a sense that local Dubai people is not only about glittering building, they lived a Bedouin life in tents in deserts. Coffee museum and cultural center were good to visit. Then took a boat ride across the river to go gold souk. Overall I had expected little more from the place. It stills shows concrete houses in old design. Instead, there could been tents in the desert. I would say, it’s a good to have visit, not a mystery-have visit.

It's not the most spectacular boarding point. That one is on the shore of Bur Dubai. But this is also interesting. There are a lot of abra boats waiting for their customers, while others are constantly going back and forth on the canal. The price of an abra trip is only 1AED.

This is a nice small museum and only costs 10 Durhams to enter. It includes free coffee and dates. Lots of antiques and some explanations of the history of coffee, such as the first coffee houses, Japan making the first instant coffee and Nestle making the first freeze dried coffee. Nice and cool inside so a good break from the heat, definitely worth a visit for anyone who likes coffee.

This museum is a hidden gem! As you might imagine from the name it’s a wonderfully eclectic canter through the history and culture of the region, with exhibitions on pearls, manuscripts, literature and weaponry.
Perhaps most strikingly, there are also very thoughtful and moving sections on both the Holocaust (some fascinating stories of Muslims helping escaping Jews) and the more recent Abrahamic Accords.
    An uplifting experience!

The house is very attractive and it has been beatifully restored.
The architecture is very beautiful and there were particularly beautiful wooden doors and windows.

There are many spices to see here at the spice souk. They have a large amount of saffron and be prepared to pay for it. We did get to smell a lot of them during our tour including many teas.

We visited the market to see a traditional market. I was left with mixed feelings, on the one hand there were interesting spices and traditional things, on the other hand there was also a lot of outright garbage. The sellers were not pushy. Overall it was interesting
