I went there to start my vacation in style. We were on a boat cruise with the family. They offered an international buffet, the cruise was along the creek which lasted well over an hour. They had music and friendly staff. I loved the experience but you must only go during the winter.

You've got to try the Abra ride over Dubai Creek! It's such an authentic experience, as it's the traditional way to cross from one side to the other. It only takes a few minutes and 1-4 Dirhams, but let me tell you, the views and the atmosphere are totally worth it. I highly recommend going during sunset—it's absolutely magical.

Great place to buy for Gold. Numerous shops to choose from! I came with my friends to buy gold and ended up with pretty decent ones with affordable price. It tends to get crowded a lot even on weekdays or when gold price drops so be ready. You can bargain for the price also.

This area offers a glimpse back to historic Dubai.

There are plenty of interesting cafes and shops to visit, together with street art and a camel and it’s baby.

It’s pleasant to simply wander around and take it in.

DId a morning tour of this neighborhood with a guide and it was excellent. This neighborhood gives you a taste of what life was like before all he modern Dubai you see today. The abras available to cross Dubai creek are great as well. While in the neighborhood, ensure you go to one of the souks/local markets (spices, silver, gold, jewelry, etc…).

The museum is stunning. It’s very nicely laid out and there are people to direct you every step of the way even though it’s mostly self-guided. Clearly a lot of thought and planning went into it and it was really eye-opening and educational. I would plan for at least 3 hours to view all the pavilions. The restored historic houses were one of my favourite aspects of it although there were a lot of interactive and participatory elements as well. It’s definitely definitely worth the trip. The staff were very friendly, welcoming, and knowledgeable as well, particularly in the jewellery section.

The boardwalk is a very nice area to have a nice walk in the evening and enjoy the creek breeze. There are coffee houses and lights.

Meena bazar in Al Fahidi feels a bit like India or Pakistan. It is not a bazar in the classical sense of the word, but rather a cluster of small shops and restaurants in a labyrint of alleys and streets. Butchers, tailors, 5 dirham hairdressers, laundry places and groceries, very many small low-budget restaurants mostly offering Indian and Paistani food.

Beware of shopkeepers selling jewelry, traditional clothes, perfumes and spices who are experienced in dealing with ignorant tourists. Of course there are honest men among them, but bargaining without knowing real Dubai prices always ends in being overcharged or ripped of.

Our group (30 people) visited this museum and I was completely astounded at what this one man managed to do, out of his love for history and respect for all who contributed to it. We only had time for one of the museums, which houses a collection of historic documents and art from the different Abrahamic cultures. Definitely worth a visit.

I visited the Spice Souk and Gold Souk on 11 May 2023 during my 4th visit to Dubai. What should have been a nice relaxing stroll through the Spice Souk to look at all the things on display and buy something which might caught my eye turned into a stressful outing due to the vendors who became agitated when I said I'm not there to buy something specific I just want to relax and have a look around Everybody wanted to sell me a pashmina (while it was about 40°C outside) or dragged me by my arm into their shop to try and convince me to buy spices, teas, ornaments etc. And when I was not interested a card with photos of fake designer watches and handbags would suddenly appear from a pocket and be offered to you at "good prices". The Gold Souk turned out to be a calmer more relaxing place for a stroll. I think on my next visit to Dubai I will rather not visit the Spice Souk again.

This is one of the most innovative museum displays I ve seen, very cleverly arranged. It is vast covering 23 buildings, has a small coffee shop somewhere around buiding 8. Aircon is very cool throughout, good wheel chair access. A bit convoluted to navigate but there are secuty guides/ guards who are there to show you the way, ask if they dont approach you first. The content is beautifully presented and shows the culture and history of Dubai. The glass fronted ticket office provided cool respite from the heat and is around 80m from the lifts down to the metro station. The water front and souk are nearby.

I last visited five years ago and was keen to return to enjoy the exhibition, the coffee, and see how it had developed since last time.

We arrived by Uber, and the driver found somewhere quite near the coffee museum to drop us off. There were no signs to the museum but we found it quickly. We were given coffee and dates as soon as we arrived, but no explanation about what we were tasting. Then we began to look around the exhibition and were offered more coffee. This time, the lady was keen to explain how this Ethiopian coffee was different from the Arabic coffee we tried at the entrance, so it made sense. I was pleased she was there. We looked around some more and finished our trip in the upstairs cafe but it was closed unfortunately.

I will visit again next time I am in Dubai but I will try to learn more about the history of coffee before I go. I would definitely call it an "exhibition", not a "museum", but it is very interesting and the lady serving the Ethiopian coffee did an excellent job.

We took the Metro to the Dubai Creek at the Spice Souk and had a lovely afternoon. The souk is the traditional style with vendors stalls and stores in rows, many selling the same products. We do not appreciate being harassed so as soon as we passed a vendor sitting quietly outside his shop we went in. I'm not a driven barterer and the prices were fair so we picked up some jasmine flowers for tea, some butterfly tea mix, and a 1/2 kilo shelled raw pistachios. Great buys. The best of the souk is people watching. The visual effects of the mounded spices on display reminded me of the spice bazaar in Istanbul.
