Such an amazing experience, every single part of the experience was great, but it wouldn't have been the same without an amazing guide. I suggest you ask for Jose Antonio as your guide. He was super kind to us, the locals in each town, and other hikers we ran across during those 4 days, always happy to help. He was very knowledgeable about the history, culture, flora, and fauna wherever we went. I'll be recommending him specifically to any of my friends who end up taking the same excursion.
Now for the Inca Jungle Trail itself, so great. You start the 1st day biking down the mountains and clouds. I worried about it being very steep or super narrow roads, but that wasn't the case at all. So picturesque, and I felt super safe with the van riding behind us as we went downhill. The white water rafting was super intense, I had never done it before but it was a blast. They did a great job training us on the commands and possible situations so we felt at ease. The 2nd day was a lot of hiking, I wish I hadn't packed as much as I did, but now I know to check weather in the towns and not just Cusco. It was warmer than I had planned so I packed too many long sleeve shirts and sweaters. The views as you hiked were amazing and I loved all of it, but you will be tired after it all. Luckily you've got the hot springs which were much needed and great. Many "pools" that were being fed water by the hot springs, so great. The 3rd day was some really fun zip-lines that were pretty long and high, with a bridget that you got to strap into and cross as well. That was super fun and had amazing views as you went across in different poses. Then it was the mostly flat trek to Aguas Calientes (Machu Picchu City) along the train tracks. Finally, on the last day, we got to go up and see Machu Picchu before heading back to Cusco via bus and train. What an experience, 10/10, just be sure to pack the essentials so you are only carrying what you need.
