I had underestimated this museum as it was very impressive. It is quite large and has a huge assortment of art. I found it quite interesting and was glad I went. It’s pretty close to the Asian Civilizations Museum so it’s easy to see both of them if you have the time.

This historical house was a highlight of my trip to Singapore. It gave such an insight to the Peranakan heritage of Singapore.
Our guide -Shirley - I think was her name - was enthusiastic and so knowledgeable. The tour was supposed to be an hour, but we were there for over 90 minutes. It was so engaging it didn’t feel that long.
Only 13 people can go on the tour at once so you must book. The tickets were somewhat misleading - so tours start at 10.00am.
We also found a cute little cafe down the street called Plain Vanilla which I would also recommend.

I originally passed this building on the Hop on - Hop off bus.
It’s eye catching. The outside is a spectacle of Art Deco architecture and Great Sculptures.
On returning to have a closer look, the interior is even more amazing.
Apparently the locals call it the Batman building and it does feel like you’ve walked into a Gotham City movie set.
The Bar Restaurant within looks fantastic.
A must see for those who love Art Deco and just for the architecture in general.

This building as its name suggest is a former fire station, but is now a museum. The building itself is lovely to look at and were it not for the information here on TA and in the museum, I’d never have guessed its former function. The building is a nice mix of Moorish, Malay and Victorian architecture and the interleaved red and white bricks at the front of the building are especially eye-catching.

This is a very cool old building. It looks very british to me. It's very cool that it is located in a far east locale. Very nice.

I had attended several seminars and exhibitions at Suntec City Convention Center and that at Singapore EXPO but this was my first time here for a security conference.

Sands Convention Center is located beside the Sands Casino so it is attractive to foreign delegates who may want to try their luck at the casino. The surrounding attractions are also gorgeous: Gardens by the Bay, the Esplanade, Shenton Way, and the city's financial hub are right here.

Singapore EXPO is remotely far not very centralized. But all three are easily accessible through public transportation. I prefer Suntec City as it is nearer my house.

I like the christmas decoration here. Although there are several exhibition halls but they are not structurally separated. I came for the security conference at Room A but I can still venture to other exhibition halls to view their displays. I like visiting each booths to learn their products and how the products are useful to solve our work problems.

The buffet food catered for the audience and participants is also pretty healthy and sumptuous.

Conducive environment, good food and a lot of new knowledge to learn and update.

Will look out for future conferences and seminars to attend here.

It’s a great vibe in the area with all the street art and a unique building with some exquisite detail to take in. Worth a walk through but perhaps not a purposeful journey.

Our hotel was very close to these unusual buildings, and it was quite an eye-opener. We’ve never stayed over this side of the island before and it is highly recommended. It has a completely different feel than staying in the city and these buildings highlight that very well indeed.

They give an insight into old Singapore. They are beautiful, well maintained and the history fascinating.

It is to the city is great credit they have kept them intact whilst development goes on all around. Well worth a visit.

I was here for a private event one evening and it provided the perfect venue for a large gathering. The food was top notch in terms of both presentation and flavour, the staff were great with the roaming drinks service throughout the evening and the general atmosphere was spot on. Of course one of the selling points at this venue is the terrace and location across the bay, which never disappoints.

Come the end of the night the staff seemed a little confused about whether they were still permitted to serve / sell additional drinks, to the point where many people just gave up, but otherwise it’s a prime venue in a superb location.

I went on a guided tour arranged by National Monument Board. This beautiful building was built in 1905 by Mr Manasseh Meyer. A.J. Bidwell of Swan and Maclaren, designed it in the late Renaissance style. The facade features ornate floral plasterwork. At the entrance is a three-arched carriage porch. There are large arched windows throughout the building.
In the interior there are arks which are oriented westwards to face Jerusalem. The Torah scrolls are stored in the arks which is a form of decorated receptacles. In the middle of the prayer hall is the bimah, a podium from where the rabbi leads the congregational prayers.
