- Tim PHampshire, UK329 contributionsVisited as part of a private city tour. Very interesting tour with a guide who knew her stuff (and spoke impeccable English). Fascinating glimpse into Spanish/Filipino life from the last couple of centuries. It was also good to bring to life several stories I have heard about such life from my visits to the Philippines over the last 35 x years.Written May 26, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Feels very good to be there and have a glance on what the past Cebu looks like. A must visit for history enthusiasts. I wish they had more space for more artifacts though. - Jack PArnhem, The Netherlands3 contributionsThere aren't many expositions that stole my heart, but this one did. Situated at the second floor of the first Eco-friendly hotel this is something you must be looking for, definitely worth while. the exposition is impressive, pure, simple, heart warming and made my mind wander off to what really matters in life.
Paulina is world famous about her naive art and exposes abroad also; if you want to see everything this will take you about two hours . Suitable for kids as well as grown ups ( there also is a little playground for the littlest downstairs)
I recommend this to everyone.Written June 18, 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews. - RobinSalobrena, Spain11 contributionsA look into the past

- Marco Paolo L7 contributionsThe Cebu City Museum held secrets. I am new in Cebu, thus I didn’t know much about the history of the place. This is why, if you’re curious in learning the history of the landmarks, streets, or event the events of the city itself, the Cebu city museum is the way to go.
The museum features and teaches some of Cebu’s historical events and landmarks. For instance, the Trio de Abril, which happened on Easter Sunday, was supposedly planned to happen on Good Friday. However, due to a “marites” from Labangon that spread the plans of the rebels, it did not push through. It was also mentioned that they wore “Anting-antings” — which where pieces of clothing meant to serve as their armor. It had religious inscriptions on it that whoever wears it will not be shot in battle (Spoiler alert: It didn’t).
Other than this, most of the roads in the city were named after generals such as General Maxillom — one of the generals during the revolution.
Overall, the museum gives us a glimpse as to how Filipinos, Cebuanos in particular, fought for their freedom in taking their land from the Spaniards.Written May 14, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
