Located in the subdivision of Beverly Hills in Cebu City is the Philippine Taoist Temple. It is a place of worship that allows visitors to enter and enjoy the beautiful surrondings and sense of peace that fills the area. Photos of the buildings and various structures are permitted. However, photos are Not permitted inside the places of worship as a matter of respect for those who may be engaged in prayer. The design and artistry employed throughout the grounds is beautiful and if you are seeking a place to find solace, perhaps discernment, or just a quiet place to take in the scenery or see something different, the Taoist Temple is worth visiting. Parking is available at the foot of the grounds, and the entrance fee was only twenty pesos. We were there for just under an hour and were glad to have spent our time there.

Simala Shrine in Cebu is like stepping into a fairytale! This stunning hilltop castle is surrounded by lush greenery and colorful flowers. It's famous for its beautiful statues and grand altar, where many believe miracles happen.

Visitors can climb the stairs for breathtaking views, ring the huge bell for good luck, and explore a mini-museum filled with fascinating artifacts. Don't forget your camera, wear comfy shoes, stay hydrated, and be respectful in this holy place. Simala Shrine offers a magical mix of fun and spirituality

Pretty neat. Architecture is beautiful. Would be nice to have the story around to read about it or a guide to explain. Also to explain the artifacts in each room as well. Entry fee is minor. Minor annoyance, all the individuals taking pictures of themselves and posing, not being cognizant of others trying to take photos of themselves scenery. No one to really control it so be prepared to wait, or take the photos creatively to look at the temple. People were carrying tripods and setting them up, expecting you to not try to go up a set of stairs so they get the perfect shot. Not the temples fault, but be prepared to deal with it.

I go here frequently while Im on Cebu. I don't know why some people choose not to rebuild what they can . Currently the church is going on renovation to maintain their building to last longer and for the people to have a better sanctuary with God. Really peaceful place for praying. I like their candle place and prayer place.

The façade of the church looks just like any old church but upon venturing inside you will be treated with beautiful paintings on the ceiling. Almost wasn't able to view as we went here past 7pm from Kota Park viewing the sunset. The front door was already closed but luckily it was accessible by the side gate. Renovations or cleaning were being done while we visited. A must see when visiting Bantayan Island

you would have not thought it was a solemn place from afar had it not been for the huge Cross on its facade. there was no dome nor a spire - just slabs of concrete positioned like domino pieces beside and in front of each other, with varying heights and widths. i appreciate the contemporary modern design.

i have observed that the pews inside the chapel are aligned evenly like they follow the equal spaces in between the walls. i was told the chapel is centrally airconditioned. would have been lovely if my husband and i would renew our vows in this Church - peaceful, quiet & serene.

since this sits within the SM seaside complex, i'm assuming the lot is owned or donated by the Sy family.

It was my first time to visit the church as an adult (and almost a senior citizen at that). Years back when I was a child, my father (may he rest in peace) used to bring us kids to this church that had a black Mary as patron. People say the Virgin's intercession is miraculous, hence, plenty of devotees go there for their intentions.

We got there at around 9PM and I heard the caretaker say, "let's close for now". Luckily, we were still admitted and lo and behold, there was a long queue towards the Virgin image even at that late hour, people silently waiting for their turn to venerate.

After lighting a candle, paying my respects and saying my intentions for my God through the Mother's intercession, we made our way out to the market to catch a ride, where a lot of people were standing in every corner waiting for their ride, too. And it was already around 10PM!

Anyway, the experience was sort of a 'bunot-tinik'; I felt great relief that I was able to revisit the church and expressed my sincerest prayer for the total recovery of my brother back home who's in an unresponsive wakefulness state. May the Lord hear my plea.

'Para akong nabunutan ng tinik sa dibdib'. I felt like a spot in my heart was pierced. Sentimental lang...

Had a stop-over at this beauty and it was truly magical. Felt like you have gone back through time and had experience a whole different era.
It was like a cross-over of two different times in one place. Its historic ambiance was a breath of fresh air on today’s modern time.
Will definitely stop-over for a longer time next time.

Knowing Philippines was occupied by the Spanish until 19th Century. It is good to know the sites that are still maintained and showcase of our past. This one is near Danao Sea port on our way to camotes Island. You will never miss this one. This is close to their parks and playground.

This Historical Cebu City 🇵🇭 Roman Catholic Church ... is location south bound , on Cebu South Rd , Pardo ( towards Talisay 🇵🇭 )

This elegant Spanish colonial architecture Church was built between 188******** from local coral stone ... after the original Church was destroyed in an Earthquake 187*** the Church was again heavily damaged during the 2013 Cebu- Bohol earthquake )

As I curiously ( as I’m not Catholic - nevertheless I inquisitively like Historical Churches ) walked towards the large arched entrance ... I noticed below the single bell tower , on the fortress like facade ... a central large circular relief style window , with at it’s center , an embellished symbol of the “ Eye of Providence “ with 12 stars surrounding the eye ( representing the Eye Of God , watching through the 12 tribes of Israel )

This church or temple was close to our hotel so we decided to walk to it and try to get in to see what was inside. The doors were open and it seemed none was inside so we didn't get the chance to visit the inside but we took some selfies outside.
