We had an amazing day. The whale sharks were spectacular, as we expected, but the catamaran trip to see the sardines and turtles was also incredible. I would like to thank Joseph (our driver for the day) for his patience as the traffic was insane in places (our day trip was almost 18 hours!). Also, the two guys (sorry, didn't catch their names) in charge of the catamaran really knew what they were doing and got beautiful photos / videos of our time with them.

Whale shark encounter and Sumilon Sandbar were great experiences! Our tour guides helped us navigate buying tickets and provided us with the best care! The Kawasan Falls were closed, but they were able to get us into another waterfall close by. Overall a great experience!!

The company was awesome. The tour guids were great.
You do have to ride a 2 hour boat ride to and from, but they drop off and pick up; it just makes for a long day of only a few things to do. But I am glad I did it. The riverboat restaurant was great.

It was an incredible experience all round!!! The early wake up was well worth it for the snorkelling experience with the whale sharks. Tumalog Fall was nice and picturesque but was heavily populated with other tourists. For canyoneering, we couldn't do Kawasan Falls as it was closed but alternatively did Kabutongan Falls which was EPICCCCC!!!!

We did our canyoneering with Leonard, and it was great fun! Lots of cool places to take pictures and loads of high jumps. Leonard was a great guide and made us feel very safe through the whole process while still having fun.

Lunch was also really good. A good spread of food and drinks. Plenty of food which means you won’t be feeling hungry afterwards!

Booking this Whale Watching and Alegria Canyoneering was the best activity of our Cebu mini-adventure! The tour operator was very professional and the arrangements and payments were so hassle-free. We started on time and all the drivers and guides made us feel safe and well-taken cared of. Shout out to our guides with the canyoneering, Rudy Lubino and RJ Apacio! The Tumalog Falls is must-see. The waters were icy blue and not your usual waterfall color, reminiscent of glacier lakes. Swimming with the butandings was awesome! Canyoneering was super fun and endorphin-filled! Yep, we’d recommend this to families who love outdoor activities! Thank you Cebutours!

We had a really good time at the Pescador Islands, the driver Angelo sent us to Moalboal in merely two hours and we had a great sleep on the drive. The local tour guide were also really nice and they took awesome videos for us using our GoPro. We upgraded to canyoneering in Alegria and the experience was stunning, we jumped into the waters for more than 10 times. It was a little crowded though.

Me and 2 of my friends booked this tour trip which was smooth! Firstly we were picked up from our resort at Badian at 4.30am and travelled to Oslob, which took 2h. We enjoyed the beautiful sunrise across the sea while in the minivan. At Oslob, our lovely guide Giselle guided us on the different checkpoints (you will need to register, sign an indemnity form, attend a 3min briefing of the rules), then we got a queue number, which is announced over the speakers. Although we reached at the opening time, the place was very crowded and we got a queue number of 76 when the first 4 numbers were just called out to enter the sea. Luckily Giselle then arranged us breakfast at a nearby restaurant to fill our bellies & pass time, and by the time we returned to the place, it was our time! We then put on our life-vests and snorkelling gear, then entered the boat, which rowed us out a while. The whole area in the sea is cordoned off to prevent tourists from drifting too far away. Those who can swim can take off the life-vests then dive in to swim with the whale sharks; but not to worry, those who can’t swim just need to stick with the life-vests and look down underneath the sea surface for the whale sharks. You can rent Go-Pro service (where the boat guide will take videos of tourists diving with whale sharks) for 400 pesos. Alternatively you can buy waterproof pouch (decent quality with locking mechanism and not just a seal, that prevent any water from entering) for 150-200 pesos. The boat guide are great at taking photos and videos at the right timing! The whole activity lasted for 30mins then we went back to shore, after which we did a quick open shower beside the boats (tourists are not allowed to use soap or shampoo) to get rid of all the salt. For Go Pro service, Giselle led us to a local shop whereby the man transferred the files into our phones (Both iPhone & Android phones are all-right as he has the relevant cables). We then had early lunch at 9am at the same restaurant before setting off via the minivan.

Controversy: There is a great deal of controversy regarding them being as tourist attractions. Detractors are upset that whale sharks are baited by locals with feeds, instead of letting them free to hunt for their own food & migrate through Pacific Ocean. Proponents state that such tourism increase the awareness & plight of endangered species in the world. Personally, I’m on the fence here, while it’s true that these whale sharks won’t be truly independent since they rely on feeds, however the locals can be seen as protecting them from the horrors of other humans. What I mean by that is there’s the argument that whale sharks are more likely to die out in the wild from being accidentally caught in fishermen’s nets or from oil spill. At least the locals are taking care of them & they even track each whale they see, especially given their low birth rate & slow maturation. Sure, tourists can be a nuisance to them, but the locals need some cashflow for sustenance. And they have very strict rules of do’s and don’t’s, eg no swimming 1.5m near whale sharks, no touching, no feeding by tourists, and no sunscreen/lotion on skin before entering the sea because the oil can affect their health! Take note please because the locals will observe and ask you to wash off so don’t try to sneakily put.

Recommendations: Best is to book via your group because the guide will help you with the processes smoothly. There are reviews earlier stating that people jumped queue or gave tips to exchange for earlier numbers/ for their numbers to be called out earlier, having a local guide prevented all these from happening to us. Feel free to wear your swimsuits! There’s public toilets there to change in and out.

Difficulty level: 1/5. You just need to lie in the sea and you can see the whale sharks close up. Almost no effort as you don’t really need to swim anyway.
Transportation: Highly recommended to get private transport to come here, otherwise stay at the resorts nearby for the night before walking here. Oslob is a municipality very far away from Cebu City. Pre-book in advance and come before opening hours to get queue number because it’s a hugely popular tourist spot and gets crowded later in morning. The whale sharks may not be around in afternoon; and it’s stated there there’s a risk of not seeing any of them, and there’s no refunds!

Boat was a bit loud but enjoyed the snorkeling. Food was ok and the crew was fun. Day started off rough with wind and rain but was great after that.

The day was spectacular. Swimming with the whale sharks was a once in a lifetime experience, and truly amazing. However, the highlight of the day was the canyoneering.

It was a very early start, and a long journey from Cebu City. However, it was a comfortable enough vehicle.

    Highly recommended.

The tour was wonderful. Or driver was a bit quiet though, maybe a language barrier. The only thing I was dissappointed at was the fact that the Luboc River Lunch Tour we went on was not the origina one. We were taken to the Via Verde one? That didn't deep into the river as the original does where they have bamboo performance huts along the river banks with singers and performers dancing for you while you eat.

The hotel was good on this trip, besides the one bartender hitting up on my girl I was with. Also I left a decent tip at checkout but they forgot to check the mini bar. I had drank a couple beers and ended up having to pay that which was way under the tip amount and basically another tip as I didn't have change then when they called and j had to leave with the tour guide that took us to the ferry to leave the island.

Then onto the tour itself. Wasn't bad persay. Lots of activities, not all that was listed when I booked tho as unavailable.

Main problem I had is I didn't know where the heck I was going daily, and during it the guide refused to speak much English to me directly even tho he knew it fluently. So I had to sit in the tricycle not knowing where I was going during and hearing him talk to my then filipina girlfriend the entire time without knowing what was even being said, even when I kept having to interrupt and ask where we were going after he was done speaking where in Filipino. My ex knew English fluently too. Just annoying when you are a tourist and don't speak that language and they keep looking at you as they joke and speak something you don't understand, and act like you do. Furthermore being I didn't know where I was going I wasn't dressed accurately each morning. I could have just went back in and delayed and changed each day but would have been better to know well before hand the expected day activities. They might have said a little prior, but not enough for me to understand with the stress I was already going thru.

Wasn't even able to go to kota beach, which wasn't directly their fault. However they made the problems worse with me and my then girlfriend which caused us to cut the trip short.

Overall 3/5 stars. I wish I could rate higher but the trip was already terrible for me because of the situation I was in, and that tour guide and bartender (not the owner bartender as he was great) wasn't making my vacation any better.
