What an amazing experience to see one of the 7 Wonders of Nature. It was sort of a process to set this up. We had to get to the ticket office first thing in the morning, pay for your parking pass as our driver waited while we did the excursion, pay for a tour guide, pay for the boat fee, then wait in the queue for our number to be called. We all noticed the amounts of people that also came in groups to go on this excursion.
By the time our number was called, it was our turn to board the boat. It was only us 4 plus the tour guide and 2 boatmen. It took a short 30 minutes or so to reach the island. From there, we get our life vests and helmets and wait for another boat tour guide to take us on another ride. This time, we set up with self guided audio because noise is refrained while in the caves. There are hundreds of bats that live in captivity, also no one is allowed from touching the interior of the caves to protect the surface from changing colors or conditions.
Most interesting part about the cave was that a lot of the shapes of the stalagmites and stalactites were similar to fruits and vegetables, biblical references, famous people, and just about anything imagined.
Wild monkeys and large lizards roam the island, you're also able to purchase souvenir pictures as a photograph is present. No lunch is served like the other island tours, but it's one of the most fascinating places l've ever been to!

Honda Bay is one of the famous tourist destinations in Palawan. It's located less than an hour away from Puerto Princesa, which makes it ideal for a day tour. You just need to go to the Santa Lourdes wharf and take a boat from there for island hopping. Usual itinerary includes a visit to the Cowry Island, the Starfish Island, and the so-called Luli Island. All of these islands are good for swimming. You can have your lunch in any of them. Highly recommended!

Beautiful beach. Slightly annoyed by the locals trying to sell bracelets but when you tell them to go they eventually do. However it do not ruin our day. Several bars. Very cheap. Surfing equipment. And wonderful sand. 10/10.

We had a better experience than many (reading reviews below). Our guide was knowledgeable and explained a lot about how fireflies work and their habitat. It was silent going through the mangroves and there were loads of fireflies to see. Our package included a buffet dinner which we ate in the harbour rather than by the mangroves due to delays which leads to 4x review. Buffet was tasty but with many options on the Baywalk it wasn’t really needed and I would have preferred to eat before/after.

Puerto Princesa has fun mixed activities that suited both a 72 and 8 year old and those in between. We did the ziplining and spelunking at Ugong Rock. The day also included a tour of a small butterfly park and demonstration by indigenous Palawans. (30% of the 1 million population) . A small shop on the indigenous display side of the road had nice souvenirs. Perhaps the only place you will see the beautiful pheasant peacock and bearcat or binturong
You can also take an outrigger boat to the underground river which is beautiful and silent except for the slight slap of the single oar. An audio in multiple languages is available. A UNESCO sight well worth supporting. Also consider the night trip for the fireflies....and hope there is no full moon.

We always enjoy visiting museums and learning some of the history of places visited. This museum was established in 2012 to showcase the rich culture and history of the Palawan region. Presentation could be improved, nevertheless there was much interest in the artefacts, cultural items, dioramas of indigenous tribes and the interactive displays. Our museum guide was very passionate in explaining the diversity of the region's inhabitants.

Included as part of our shore excursion, interesting but not an exciting attraction. Our guide explained that it is one of a number of “prison without bars” established by the United State in 1904. Inmates are required to tend tracts of farmland instead of languishing in cells. Not many guards in evidence, the few inmates spotted in the fields carrying out their duties in a languid manner. When we all disembarked the buses, the music began, inmates on a variety of instruments and accompanied by energetic dancers. A covered area showcased various handicrafts produced by the inmates in their spare time. Nice Rizah monument nearby. It is the largest prison of its type in the country, the entry gate controlled by one guard who gave us a cursory glance and waved the bus through with a smile.

After being in lockdown for the past few weeks, this beach was the perfect local getaway. Beautiful sands and clear waters, and the water temperature is always just right. Definitely worth the trek from the city. It was even fun to watch all the boats going back and forth to underground river.

We cruised into Puerto Princesa and caught a local tut tut to the Butterfly Farm.
It was an experience and the ride was about 25mins.
Our driver/guide was excellent and the cost was $20 US.
The Butterfly Farm & Tribal Village was well presented and a guide took us around in groups and explained everything.
There is a small gift shop and a Cafe.
The toilets are western however very basic and not clean.

The origins of the church date to 1872 when the first mass was celebrated on site. The building has been remodeled and restored on a number of occasions, culminating in the present building completed in 1961 to serve as a Cathedral. Beautiful building in the Gothic architecture style with two belfries and neo-gothic interior decor. A statue of the Virgin is located in front of the entrance facing Rizal Park and monument to the patriot.
