- CaitlinCAPasadena, CA28 contributionsWe enjoyed visiting the Underground River, however our visit was delayed 2 days because of weather conditions. The Coastguard shuts down the visit if waves are too high. This is because it's a beach landing at the site. You may have to wade a bit to disembark. Even on approved visit days, if the sea is not calm it could be challenging for senior citizens to embark and disembark. The crew was very helpful with my 84 year old father. He is still very active but needed assistance. There is a short walk through jungle to reach the lagoon where you board the boat to tour the cave. The caves were very interesting. They are far from other tourist areas of Palawan. I would prioritize this site behind the island hopping at El Nido.Written February 15, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Chris B1 contributionTubbataha reef is an amazing diving experience. Beautiful corals, whale shark , mantas - all of it happened during our 5 day live aboard on amazing Stella Maris Explorer boat. - mrc282World9,723 contributionsdid the canopy walk plus spider web. you will be fitted with harness and helmet. the hike involves steep hike up jagged stone steps, suspension bridge, and a series of stairs made out of metal tubes. the return trip takes about 45-60 min.anybody can do it as long as no fear of heights.
the viewing deck at the end of canopy walk provide you a vantage view of the el nido bay
spider web is optional extra. this faces the el nido town
entrance fees are cheaper on klook than paying in person onsite
all in all, a somewhat pricey excursion but the view on a clear day is worth it.
this is also the official route. the unofficial route starts at 4/5/6 am for a sunrise hike, and involves climbing and scrambling with no harnessWritten December 25, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We did the ziplining and spelunking at Ugong Rock. The day also included a tour of a small butterfly park and demonstration by indigenous Palawans. (30% of the 1 million population) . A small shop on the indigenous display side of the road had nice souvenirs. Perhaps the only place you will see the beautiful pheasant peacock and bearcat or binturong
You can also take an outrigger boat to the underground river which is beautiful and silent except for the slight slap of the single oar. An audio in multiple languages is available. A UNESCO sight well worth supporting. Also consider the night trip for the fireflies....and hope there is no full moon.Written December 11, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jojo De PeraltaPuerto Princesa, Philippines7 contributionsThere's some confusion because Mt. Salakot is different than Salakot Waterfalls. Both are well known attraction here in Palawan. Mt. Salakot is a 1070+ masl mountain peak. An old military communication base manned by Philippine Air Force 570th composite tactical wing. The Base was actually made by American soldiers during the American occupation in Palawan, then later turned-over to Philippine government. You need a special permit for the peak and it's about 5.24 km hike from the waterfalls following the trail.
Salakot Waterfalls is a small waterfalls near the jump off and around 70 meters away from the concrete road leading to Napsan. Entrance fee is 10 pesos, no need to secure permit. I was there two weeks ago, I will try to upload photos of Salakot Falls and Mount Salakot.Written May 12, 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It was a first class experience, excellent fun crew who worked like a family knowing their roles clearly. Superb food & lots of water time/activities (especially days 2 & 3). Melvin is an excellent lead & a warm hearted guy who interacted with all the guests & it was great to watch him mentoring his team & giving them growth opportunities. The islands we visited were beautiful (white sand, clear turquoise sea), my highlights were: spotting & swimming with a turtle, cliff jumping, the campsite - cute, comfortable huts with breeze flowing through, 6.30am BC swim back to the boat & an abundance of food choices. Oh, and seeing how the group gelled after 3 days together. . I came on the trip from a recommendation & will certainly recommend to others to experience paradise with Tropical Paradise tours. Thanks Melvin & team.Written February 15, 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Alex K1 contributionBest dive shop in el nido! Great people and a smooth experience, with free photos! - Lewis M2 contributionsHad an excellent time diving so went back again three days later for more dives. - G2KpaulyMelbourne, Australia3,611 contributionsI decided to do this zipline after the river tour. It was worth the 550 pesos. It was 1.5 minutes over water and rocks at the start which was quite scary. Once on the water you feel good as you will survive if the line breaks. Good fun!Written August 17, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

The groups going out are small, only 1 to 2 people per divemaster was my experience, which is fantastic! Jonathan and Larry are great divemasters, and Melissa at the front desk is immensely helpful. The guys on the boat are fantastic too, always there when you need help. The boat is small, so beware of that, but it just means a more intimate experience with you and the sea.Written November 28, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
