There's some confusion because Mt. Salakot is different than Salakot Waterfalls. Both are well known attraction here in Palawan. Mt. Salakot is a 1070+ masl mountain peak. An old military communication base manned by Philippine Air Force 570th composite tactical wing. The Base was actually made by American soldiers during the American occupation in Palawan, then later turned-over to Philippine government. You need a special permit for the peak and it's about 5.24 km hike from the waterfalls following the trail.
Salakot Waterfalls is a small waterfalls near the jump off and around 70 meters away from the concrete road leading to Napsan. Entrance fee is 10 pesos, no need to secure permit. I was there two weeks ago, I will try to upload photos of Salakot Falls and Mount Salakot.

Incredible experience with tour guide Adonis - he made the hike extremely memorable. Adonis was so knowledgeable about the area, habitat, animals and plants. At the top, the views were spectacular!! This is not a busy or touristy hike, which we liked as it felt more secluded.
We loved the company of Adonis so much that we asked him for a longer hike the next day, where he took us up the mountain but then a different route to a secluded beach whereby we were the only ones there! This beach was paradise! White sand and clear blue waters! It was a dream! Adonis then gave us fresh coconuts and we tried the fruit of the cashew.
I’d highly recommend that everyone ask for Adonis as a tour guide at El Nido - he made the trip so special.

Had a magnificent two-day trek on Thumb's Peak with my excellent guide, the famous Bert Nicodimus. We camped in the forest quite a bit further on than the cave, which I thought worked better - less climbing to do the next morning and it was funky lying in my hammock and watching the nighttime forest canopy, stars and moon through the leaves.

You can try to book Bert through his wife's cellphone number:

    +(63) 9482604378

Coincidentally, Bert actually lives just behind my house in Zone 10, Irawan barangay (village) of Puerto Princesa. So, I can also try to connect you with him if you email me at:
