- LeiCagayan de Oro, Philippines15 contributionsThere are more than one story about this waterfalls but one legend says that this waterfalls appeared after the identical twins, Maria and Cristina were bathing in the Agus River. Maria, the younger twin, was carried by the current. Cristina tried to save her sister, but the current was so strong that both of them drowned. People were amazed when a beautiful twin waterfalls came about from were the sisters perished. And everyone called it Maria Cristina.
This legendary waterfalls is the outlet of Lake Lanao through Agus River. It is sometimes called the "twin falls" as the flow is separated by a rock at the brink of the waterfall. The 320 - feet (98 meters) high waterfalls is also the primary source of electric power for the city's industries, being harnessed by the National Power Corporation - Agus Hydroelectric Power Plants.Written 5 March 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It was better like this though since you have the place all to your self. No other guests blocking the lovely view. The closer we got was only until the bridge but we still have a good look at majestic falls.Written 5 September 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - DemsMarikina, Philippines36 contributionsWhat I love about this falls is that you don't need to trek to enjoy cold, mountain water. Tuasan Falls is just a few steps away from the entrance.
Regular fee is P50 and you can stay/swim as long as you want. There is a lifeguard on site.Written 31 October 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Steven SPattaya, Thailand588 contributionsFirstly, let me just correct another reviewer who stated you can only get here by taxi or rented van. NOT TRUE. My internet research prior to traveling here informed me that I could take a jeepney from downtown Iligan and be dropped off where I could take a habal habal or trike to the falls. Which is what I did to first visit Tinago Falls. As these falls are nearby I then negotiated a price with a trike driver at Tinago to take me to these falls and then return me to the main road where I then took a jeepney back to the crossroad for Maria Cristina Falls. The trike driver came with me and took some photos for me.
Entry was 50 pesos and only a few steps to descend. Nice area for family picnic. Great for photo taking. Certainly worth a visit.Written 5 November 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We climbed down more than 300 steps (stiff stairs) to see this majestic falls. Awesome as we again connect to Nature. The area is clean and only few people were there when we arrived. We enjoyed every bit of seconds that we stay at the falls.Written 26 December 2021This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Maria TheresaGingoog City, Philippines3 contributionsIt's very accessible going to Tiklas from Gingoog City, .you don't have to spent thousands of your budgetary. You can reach the falls by a motorcycle with a top cover. ,modified for rainy or sunny. or by your own kind of transportation . roads are now undergoing construction. .but wont hinder your time spent in reaching Tiklas. Its breathtaking view of the falls takes your weariness from city life or from normal stresses. Its awesomely inspiring to God's creation.Written 24 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Rob DCamiguin, Philippines75 contributionsLots of crystal clear water and many slides and pools to enjoy.
Barbeque area for cooking a meal, karaoke available.
P50 entry fee.
I would have rated excellent, but the area hasn't been cleaned for a while. Empty beer bottles, garbage, bottle caps in the lower pool and leaves from the trees.
Many places in need of maintenance including a fresh coat of paint.Written 6 September 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. From the main entrance, you have to go a bit further down the road to see 2 new pools ( kids and adults) underneath the trees. A big net to catch the falling leaves overhangs above the pools to maintain its cleanliness. cottages for rent also surrounds these pools where you can eat and have a place to lounge while enjoying nature at its best.Written 5 September 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It's about 15 feet deep and life jacket is available for rental at 30 pesos. It's a hidden gem of Jasaan. The local government has made efforts to develop the spot. There is good road going to the location. You can ride a tricycle from the highway. This fare think is 50 pesos. Even an elderly individual can visit this because there's not much trekking required. There's still a lot of improvement needed to make your stay more comfortable. But if you're in for an adventure then this place is a must.Written 14 March 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
