Richard was the highlight. He was fun and very funny. He is quite knowledgable in the areas we visited. We appreciated his knowledge and insight into the history and how it connected to how the people live today.
We appreciated he came into the buildings with us and explained more than the signs could contain. It helped us feel more connected to the sight.
We appreciated him stopping at places we had interest that were not a stop on the tour. (It did help we were the only two people. But we appreciated the tour was not canceled even though we were the only two)
We loved the drivers sense of safety and felt safe with him. Seeing this kind of traffic for the first time, feeling safe meant allot to us.
Mostly we lived how Richard card about his country and the people.

Last day before our holiday ends. We went to see the taal volcano & travel to see Cavinti Falls.
We were in for a great surprise in Cavinti. We did not expect to do vertical trekking.. It was challenging...(I mean for us😆) But it was worth it.❤️🇵🇭

Richard who was our tour guide & driver was super nice. He brought us to beautiful spots & great place to eat. Thank you Richard!

This food tour was absolutely amazing! Not only did Gian introduce us to Filipino food, he also provided excellent insight into the culture of the country. It was like going out for a meal and some drinks with a friend. We tried 16 different items and had a fun little group of travelers with us. Go with an open mind and an empty belly and you won't be disappointed!

Enjoyed hiking to Mt Pinatubo with Joannah and experiencing what it is like for indigenous life near there as we approached the base and encountered families. Appreciated exposure to the history since eruption and just enjoyed the landscape and trek immensely. The view is incredible and the journey there worthwhile.

Andrei, the tour guide, was amazing.

He explained everything very thoroughly and was highly engaging. The tour was well-organised and we learned so much within the short time.

I loved learning about our past and the guided tour was the best way to share it with visitors and residents alike.

An amazing trip to North Luzon with Yolo Travel!

We contacted Yolo to arrange a tour of North Luzon’s rice terraces and surrounding area. The remit was broad, only that it was for two people and should be 6/7 days. Paulo at Yolo was amazing. He very quickly proposed an itinerary which covered all the parts we wanted (including some we had never heard of), as well as advising on the best times to visit and what to bring.

Our tour covered Banaue and the surrounding areas (Batad, Hapao, Tapiya Falls) before moving on to Sagada (Sumaging and Lumiang Caves, surrounding waterfalls, Blue soil and Hanging Coffins).

Yolo arranged all the transport, guides and accommodation, making this a very stress-free trip. We did a private tour for two people, meaning that everything was done at our pace, which was especially appreciated after a few days walking the rice terraces! We had separate guides for Banaue (Abner and Mulin) and Sagada (Rex), all of whom were local and very knowledgeable on the area and local culture and customs, couldn’t recommend them enough.

We had amazing time and will definitely be using Yolo again for future trips, thank you!

Highly recommended tour guide if you want to explore Manila and learn about the history. Jian was on time, accommodating and most of all knowledgeable. He is confident and has a bit of humor when he does commentary.

This tour was excellent if you are into history, and JB and Vincent really made it special for us. The car they drove us around in was comfortable and they spoke great English. It was a very personalized trip to us although they had everything planned out, we stayed at each place as long or short as we wanted. Not only did we get to see multiple death march sites, but we interacted with school children, saw the landscape of a southern Luzon, ate some Philippine food and received a cultural lesson from our guides. The tour took about 13 hours but would vary some based on how bad the traffic is on a specific day.

We recommend this tour 100%! From the moment we booked the tour up until our return to Manila, our experience was incredible!

When planning the tour, communication with JP was very easy. He answered all our questions super quickly and was very accomodating. He organized our tour to Banaue to make sure we got to make the most out of our experience with the little time we had. He also made sure to tell us what to pack and what to expect.

When we landed in Manila in the middle of the night, JP and our driver Alex were there to welcome us with a big smile although our flight was very delayed! Our driver Alex was incredibly kind and knowledgable and made the long ride pass very quickly, making sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed, and stopped at some great local spots to eat.

When we arrived in Banaue, we met with our guide Jonathan, who made us feel welcome right away. Jonathan was extremely kind, friendly and so knowledgable. All throughout the trip, Jonathan shared stories and history with us and made us fall in love with the region and the culture. Jonathan was extremely patient and encouraging during the hike and adapted to our pace very well (I am amputated and have a prosthetic leg) giving us the boost we needed to complete the beautiful hike through the Batad rice terraces and to the waterfall! We spent the evening hanging out with Jonathan and other guests at the inn.

The hotel we stayed at in Batad (Simon’s inn) was spacious, clean and had a breathtaking view! The owner was kind and welcoming and breakfast, lunch and dinner was delicious.

It felt so good and resourcing to leave the fast pace of the city behind and simply enjoy the peace and quiet of the nature surrounding us.

All in all, this was an experience of a lifetime and exceeded our expectations, thanks to all these amazing people. We strongly recommend you book with Vagabond Pinas, you won’t regret it !

My partner and I did a weekend hike in the rice terraces outside of Banaue. In the lead up to our trip, Uncharted Philippines was very helpful and responsive and we felt very well prepared for the journey.

As other reviewers have mentioned, the overnight bus ride to reach Banaue from Manila is tough going, but that is out of the control of Uncharted Philippines. Our guide Jody met our bus in Banaue and took us to a local inn, where we had a good breakfast and left our suitcases before heading off.

The rice terraces are incredibly beautiful and Jody, a local of the area, gave us some really interesting insights into the farmers' way of life. My partner and I are both reasonably fit and still found the hike itself quite challenging, but ultimately very worthwhile.
