#1 of 158 Sights & Landmarks in Nanjing
Currently, it’s a beautiful and respectful building made of granite and stones that has three distinctive parts — the exhibits, the hall for historical documents and the burial and excavated bones site.
The Memorial and museum present excellent and balanced views of the massacre and what we in the west call World War II.

The site itself is pretty good with a set of steps that once you reach the top gives you a good overview of Nanjing and you can also see the history behind the mausoleum itself and the famous Sun Yat Sen.
Situated on the side of Purple Mountain, the Mausoleum is the perfect vantage point to see views of the city.

The wall is best viewed both from street level (free) so you can appreciate the enormity and height, but it’s also worth to climb some of the wall too as you get some great views both of the wall and the rest of t...
The ming wall offers a great view and offers a great history of this beautiful city .This is the longest city wall in the world, and there is plenty of space to move around.

Walking around the edge to the back to view the tree covered burial mound was enchanting and on the misty morning we visited was serene and beautiful.
The Ming Tomb is one of my favorite sites in Nanjing.

This area has a great historical atmosphere with lots of interesting sights and shops selling nic nac's, including mobiles, precious stones and selfie sticks.
The temple was nicely built in traditional manner, it is right next to the river area where you can see the great view of the river.

A bit of a stair climb to visit the tomb itself but well worth it for the views alone.
Love the historic settings and view .

You can imagine to see kilometres after kilometres of the river extending into the East China Sea, such a grandiose view for everything.
A great place to have a view of Yangtze River and the Bridge is the Viewing Tower.

thing is noted crowd and you have time to look around ,the Tower has been renovated in 2001 ,the building on Top of the cliff overlooking the river city and nanjing bridge ,the view from the Tower so breathtaking.
Then the climb to the 7th (and top) level of the tower is well worth the effort for the 380 degree views are spectacular, including the sight of the mighty Yangtze river which loops around this part of the city.

The pagoda is a war memorial, and if you climb to the top, you will get an amazing view of the Purple Mountain and Nanjing.
The three main sites to visit in Zijin Mountain Scenic Area, just east of Nanjing's city centre, are all worth the effort, but the effort is supreme.

If interested in this type of historical site, I suggest visiting the Meiling palace individually, not packed in one big day with the rest of the massive park surrounding it.
