The hieroglyphics are amazingly intricate and the colours still remain vivid despite the passage of time.

The scale and the decoration of the temple needs to be seen to be believed and to walk down the avenue of sphinxes felt like a magical step back in time.

Nefertari was the principal wife of Ramesses II. Notice Nefertari's dark skin. She was a Nubian. The tomb is richly decorated and quite impressive.
I later found out from my tour guide that Nefertari's tomb closed for renovations the day after we visited. The guides were really knowledgeable, spoke very good english, and as everyone else were really nice and available. - John V9 contributionsAbsolutely superb on every level. Enrique & Eleanor, with their amazing team, delivered a truly authentic Nile experience for our group of 4 couples. The rooms are beautiful, comfortable & luxurious. The staff were so attentive but not smothering. All meals were aboard & delicious. These boats take you to places others can never go & we got to swim in the Nile often - a real highlight every day. The owners & staff are sharing their passion for the area with their guests, & that passion shines through. Absolutely lovely crew, great and very knowledgeable guide, who showed us many fascinating things, also off the usual tourist tracks, a beautiful Dahabiya (Minya), which we fortunately had all on our own, designed in a traditional style and with with much love for detail, charming and spacey cabins and bathrooms, great sights and a wonderful landscape one enjoys in a relaxing peace. Ahmed served us food with his great decent charm, the kind old captain always spread his good mood and we marvelled at the great pieces of towel art we found everyday in our cabins!
