- Debbie GScotland, UK112 contributionsThis was my favourite place to visit on our trip to Eygpt.
The hieroglyphics are amazingly intricate and the colours still remain vivid despite the passage of time.
Unfortunately, as with most of the historical sites we visit in Eygpt, you have to be on constant guard from being scammed, which includes the staff - don't sit up front on the buggies that take you to the site and don't hand your phone over to the staff that man the tombs to take pics unless you also want to hand over cash.Written September 7, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The colossal columns, intricate carvings, and vast temple complex provide a stunning glimpse into ancient Egyptian civilization. The grandeur of the Hypostyle Hall and the serene Sacred Lake make it a must-visit. An unforgettable experience that beautifully showcases Egypt's rich history. Highly recommended!

The scale and the decoration of the temple needs to be seen to be believed and to walk down the avenue of sphinxes felt like a magical step back in time.
Didn't suffer from the usual harassment by scammers at this site, which we'd experienced at other historic sites.Written September 7, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Luckily, we had a guide as otherwise there would have been no information to explain the history of the site.Written September 7, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Some pieces which one does not see out there can be seen in the museum.Written August 26, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - juliaandadam123Ashford, UK1,895 contributionsHistory comes alive at the Valley of the Kings. It’s worth paying the extra to visit Tut’s tomb as it brings alive all the stories you will have heard throughout your life time.
We visited with a private guide and he seemed to time it well (from reading other reviews) as we had the tomb to ourselves.Written August 29, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We went before visiting the Museum of Civilization in Cairo, and having been to their tomb made seeing the mummies of Ramses V and VI more meaningful.Written July 23, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Peter F5 contributionsGreat little tourist souvenir shop in the center of Luxor. It has all the usual stuff but with fixed prices and without the usual haggling stress. They are also willing to personalize a lot of the items.
It’s really the only shop you need for your holiday souvenirs.Written August 22, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. There are enough sphinxes that you can use your imagination to see what it once looked like.Written July 22, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Susan CMelbourne, Australia1,539 contributionsRenowned in poetry and truly large these ruined statues are looking very much the worse for wear. They are roped off and the area behind them is off-limits as the temple complex behind them is being excavated. However, it only takes a moment to visit them and there is no cost so nothing is wasted by looking at them.Written April 6, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Jenni H3 contributionsI spent 2 weeks together with the lovely staff at ACE as a volunteer. It was very meaningful seeing the good work they do up close, and I couldn’t imagine being surrounded by a more genuine and kind people. If you are in Luxor, consider a visit to see their great work for yourself.Written September 1, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Co LNorth Willoughby, Australia13 contributionsThe village of Deir el Medina, home of the workers who built the royal tombs KV, and their tombs are well worth the visit. Being return visitors with reasonable knowledge we simply found a taxi driver, Asem, with good English who knew exactly where we wanted to go from the corniche in Luxor across to the West Bank. Negotiated a price that included waiting and then taking us on to some specific nobles tombs before returning us to our hotel. Much cheaper than a guide and private tour.Written October 9, 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- atef S4 contributionsDuring my visit to the city of Luxor, I did not find a bazaar for antiques and gifts except through this bazaar. Nobilis has conscientious management. I spent what i felt was a lot of money and then disappointed when received shipment that was missing a piece that was promised would be added. i was in a hurry to catch a flight and tired, in future i will be aware of not shopping when rushed and tiredWritten April 4, 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Darren LQueenstown, MD825 contributionsA must do in Luxor, and seeing it at night, lit up , was neat. The first part of the show was the best. Portion at the lake a little less awe inspiring. Quite a long walk from the first part (Temple) to the seating area at the lake.Written November 7, 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
